Forestry services: Three years combined working for the Department of Natural Resources in the State of Washington.
Fightingforest fires and operating chainsaws on “clear cutting”crews. This consisted of nonstop cutting in thick underbrush
from saplings and upwards to three-foot-thick diameter Fir, Alder and Cedar trees cutting closeto one acre for eight-hour day.
I operated “Stihl” brand 026, 044 and 066 (48-inch bar) chainsaws. Skills required were to clear eightby twelve feet between
trees so the other trees got more sun lightto grow bigger and faster. Workingconditions were harsh and physical. Steep
mountains,(Olympic rain forest,WA.) rain,snow, wet, slippery and cold.
1. Experienced fightingtwo different forest fires in eastern WA. Skills included using“Pulaski”tool,partaxe and pick
that fire fighters use to cut roots,wood and digwith. Fire break trails weremade the approximatewidth of the
length of the handle. Harsh,hot, smoky and physical conditions. Skilled with mop up crews usingwater bladder

bags carried on your back to spray water to extinguish ground hot spots and coals. Additional skills includeplanting
three-year-old fir trees duringthe winter months
Maintenance and small engine repair: Two years overall maintaining,repairing,and rebuildingvarious smaller gas powered
land scapepower equipment. Most recent eight months’ experience maintainingeighteen chainsaws,thirty-two weed eaters,
twelve leaf blowers,sixteen Honda lawn mowers and six polesaws in Medford, Oregon. They all had to run properly and
safely. I had to supply a crew of ten, each in four work vans. Monday-Saturday. I sharpened sawchains,changed lineand
head units on weed eaters, diagnosecontaminated gas,tune for optimum performance and make sure safety devices were
operational and intact.
Note: Apart from automotive, small engine/maintenance andcustomerservice…the skillsandexperience listed
are over ten years old. My includedwork experience onlygoesback tenyears, mostly automotive.

Introduction to Microsoft computer applications: Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook and key board.
Completed. Pass grade. I learned basics, features and the navigation to operate these programs.
Unfortunately, I don’t use most of these daily and forgot more than I remember.

MasterAutomotive Technician. ASE I.D. number: ASE-2709-2477. Qualifiedapplicants need
two years’ verifiable automotive employment or trade school to test. Tested twice, five-year
certifications each and passed eight categories of testing each time, earning a Master Automotive
Certificate. Tests express competency for skill and diagnostics in: Engine repair, Engine
Performance, Brakes, Suspension and steering, Heating and Air conditioning, Automatic
transmissions, Manual transmissions and Electrical.

are engine components attached insideof an automotive engine that controls camshaftphasingatdifferent engine speeds.
These are expensive, critical items thatgreatly effect profits on remanufactured engines. This company goal,at the time,
produced twenty remanufactured engines per day. After getting my station set up to my likingI was capableof rebuilding30 -
40 VVT components per day…savingthe company minimum of $100 per one VVT or $400per engine. Other duties were
polishingcritical enginecrankshafts,camshafts and internal balanceshaftassemblies on special lathemachines. Inspected
warrantied return engines to determine the merit, severity and accuracy of the claim. Customers faultor not. A coupleother
supervisors and departments would inspectthe problems for accuracy.
