Officer I : Supervision of Inmates at all times maintain Safety and Security for the State of
Kansas. Officers received 8 weeks Training in the following Categories but not limited to: Self
defense, Firearms, Restraining inmates, Hostage Negotiations, Safety, Security, First Aid and
CPR Training. Arms qualification self defense annually. Reading and maintaining Post Orders on
a daily basis. Journaling a log of all movement of imates. Supervision of caustics, meals, medical,
cleaning and work duties of inmates. Shakedown and inspection of inmates, facilities and
compound perimeter. Inspection of inmates properties coming in the Facilities and shipping
out. Admissions and Discharge of inmates and property from other State of Kansas Facilities.
Responsible for responding to altercations, medical emergencies, escorting Medical staff and
others to Segregation cell houses. Escorting and restraining segregation inmates to recreation
and or appointments. Constant knowledge of all inmates whereabouts at all times. Constant
communications with Radio, Telephone and Control officer.
