Production technician 14 years:
1). Duties included operating chemical reactors with dangerous & hazardous
chemicals. Operated both continuous reactors and semi-batch reactors. Duties
included preparation of reactors, filling them with proper amount of chemicals,
monitoring reaction, verifying flow rates and amounts, sampling, pumping to
storage tanks.
2). Operated coagulation drying system to turn liquid into dry powder using
sulfuric acid, water and steam. Operated Coag & Cooker vessels with liquid
product. Duties included control room monitoring of reactors with computer
systems and did operations on the floor and sampling product in lab.
3). Trouble shooting DCS computer systems (system 6) to keep operations from
shutting down. Familiar with PLS and DCS computer logic in the operations of
reactors and Coag systems. Knowledgeable in Microsoft word and excel. Had the
responsibility for lockout/tag-outs, safe work permits. Familiar with MSDS, had
to be certified by the federal government to be able to operate systems. Railcar
loading and unloading of powder and liquids. The main objective in any
operation is to SAFETY FIRST!
4. Maintenance Experience 6 Years:
1). Worked in the maintenance shop for 6 years. Worked on machinery in the
plant doing troubling shooting, parts replacements and rebuilds. Some electrical
training. Some stick welding and wire welding. Familiar with cutting touch, plasma
cutter. Mechanical break, along with mechanical shear, drill press, band saw, cut
off saws, chain falls, etc. Did laser alignment on pumps.
2). Worked with crane operators. Fabricated piping, rebuilt pelletizers, worked on
robotic auto-bagger (computer controlled). Rebuilt pumps, changed out and
wired motors (3 phase 480 volts). Replaced electrical switches and relays and
fuses. Replaced computer rack modular control boards.
3). Rebuild valves (familiar with micrometers and dial indicators) both manual air
or electrical operated. Worked on both pumps, blowers, gearboxes; belt driven,
gear driven, and chain driven. Operated fork- trucks, man lifts, high pressure
cleaner, vacuum truck. Worked at high levels (always with safety harness &
lanyard).
