            A lot of “buzz” about Packaging at drupa and in the Press

            Ricoh‟s recent study into the market for Digital identified packaging as the largest
             growth market, forecast to grow 9% between 2009-14.

            Packaging Market actually declined 2007-9 and then grew again 2010 onwards

            Why – the impact of digital packaging !

Digital packaging

            The latest advances in digital printing technology and finishing can revolutionise packaging.
            Key reasons:
              –    reduce the need for prepress and make-ready, greatly reducing costs
              –    customisation such as multi-language versions, targeted marketing promotions, seasonal offers, mass
                   customised packaging
              –    a wider range of applications is becoming available – including self-adhesive labels, high quality printing
                   or decoration of folding cartons, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, tube laminates, pot lids, pails and
                   buckets.
