Introduction
I have fifteen years’ experience as an energy manager. I have developed RFP’s and
negotiated natural gas and electricity supply contracts, purchased natural gas and
electricity in deregulated markets and developed short and long-term energy market
analysis. I have been involved in natural gas and electricity regulatory proceedings at
state public service commissions, developed energy policy and provided testimony at
state legislative energy committees. Additionally, I have managed energy conservation
projects, implemented demand response programs, developed and implemented risk
management programs, and managed natural gas inventory, etc. As the Global Energy
Category Manager for Dow Corning Corporation, I implemented a global energy category
management process including the development and coordination of local energy
category managers. I was responsible for setting energy supply strategy, leading
complex negotiations and communicating results with senior management. I’ve had
direct responsibility for establishing business relationships with suppliers, local and state
government agencies and public service commission regulatory agencies.
I am also the Executive Director of ABATE, the Michigan industrial energy customer
group. In this role, I provide strategic direction and energy expertise for some of the
largest energy consumers in the state of Michigan.
Additionally, I have several years’ experience in project management. I have developed
detailed specifications, financial estimates, project schedules, and operation manuals. I
have taken 6-Sigma training in the DMAIC and DMEDI methodology at Dow Corning,
project management training at Weirton Steel and independent study of managing
projects through Harvard Business Essentials.
Some of my strongest skills are exceptional organization, attention to detail and the ability
to effectively communicate at all levels.
