pleasure you will likely fly into and out of
Tocumen International Airport.


 Tocumen is fifteen miles from downtown Panama
City, Panama.


 This international airport receives more passenger
traffic than any other in Central America.


 The 10,000 foot long main runway at Tocumen
connects passengers to North, South and Central
America, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Pearson, and Washington – Dulles in North
America.


 Copa’s more than sixty destinations include, in the
Caribbean and South America, Havana, Buenos
Aires-Ezeiza, Cancun, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro-
Galeão, Cali, Medellín-Córdova, Bogotá, and Quito.


 As such, flying to Panama is possible via a large
number of carriers. Taxis are plentiful if you do
not have a ride arranged.


 Don’t be surprised if the taxi driver asks for $50 to
take you into the city, perhaps more if you name a
hotel that you are going to.


 If you are booking a vacation through a travel
agency try to get the connection to the hotel or
other destination set up in advance.


 ($50 is too much. $30 to $40 will get a taxi driver
to come to your apartment in El Centro, pick you
up,


 take you to the airport, pick up your friend who has
just arrived, and take all of you to your destination in
the city.

 While Panama La Vieja is a historic monument,
Casco Viejo (means old helmet, referring to the
shape of the city and the helmets


 worn by the Conquistadors) is where everyone
lived for two centuries after Morgan’s attack.


 Today this old city is undergoing a Renaissance.


 Three century old building that show their age
stand side by side with restored versions.


 The area is a United Nations Heritage Site and
reconstruction dictates that the outsides of the old
buildings must be remodeled in the original Spanish
Baroque or later Creole designs.


 However, once you enter one of these buildings you
will see modern interiors, use the Wi-Fi, and enjoy
all of the conveniences of modern society.


 The Panama Pacific Coast boasts of some the best
sports fishing in the world and the Pacific beaches
are known as the Panama Riviera.
