problems

• basing their recommendations on evidence
generated through existing and their own original
academic research

 To thrive, organizations need to keep adapting to the
changing environment
e.g., change how they work internally, their strategy,
become more innovative, collaborate with other
organizations
 Identify what adaptation is needed, how it can be
accomplished and guide organizations to implement
change.

 To do that they need to:
• Understand the issue at hand based on evidence
(data, analysis, conclusion)  diagnosis
• Draw on most up-to-date research on the topic 
tailor-made solution
• Communicate effectively with relevant
stakeholders
• Guide a team to facilitate implementation

• 1,5 year long program
• Semester 1: courses as in the regular Master OS
• Semester 2 & 3: Junior traineeship at a partner
organization (12 months)
• Research proposal around a problem experienced by
the partner organization
• 6 full-day workshops on professional skills
• 4 professional assignments

• Completed Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in:
• management,
• organization psychology,
• organization sociology,
• business economics / studies.
• Basic knowledge of social science theories
• Basic knowledge of organization and management (theories)
• Sound knowledge in research methods and statistics

7. Admission & application Extended Master
• Admission: Same as regular Master OS
• Information session and speed date on 28 May 2018
(register in April)
• Apply for traineeship at a partner organization
• Deadline for applications is May-June, 2018

• Students of Tilburg University with an eligible degree can
directly apply via Studylink (Step 3)

What’s the Master OS all about? 5  Organizational environment is complex and dynamic  To thrive, organizations need to keep adapting to the changing environment e.g., change how they work internally, their strategy, become more innovative, collaborate with other organizations  Identify what adaptation is needed, how it can be accomplished and guide organizations to implement change.

What’s the Master OS all about? 6  To do that they need to: • Understand the issue at hand based on evidence (data, analysis, conclusion)  diagnosis • Draw on most up-to-date research on the topic  tailor-made solution • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders • Guide a team to facilitate implementation

Thesis and Master thesis circles 13  Thesis circles: 8 students (max)  Feedback from the circle supervisor and fellow students  Each circle has a theme, e.g.: • Composition of top management teams • Multiple-team membership in organizations • Intrafirm networks and innovation • International management and organizational culture • Temporary organizations and learning • Breakthrough innovations, corporate entrepreneurship and external collaboration

Extended Master Organization Studies 20 • 1,5 year long program • Semester 1: courses as in the regular Master OS • Semester 2 & 3: Junior traineeship at a partner organization (12 months) • Research proposal around a problem experienced by the partner organization • 6 full-day workshops on professional skills • 4 professional assignments
