Conclusion
Clearly, raising children today is more challenging than it was in the past.
Parents nowadays are required to deal with many factors that their parents
did not have to, such as the Internet, intense pressure for their children to
succeed, and changes in attitudes and behaviours regarding parenting.
Children are now computer literate, more aware of their choices, and less
intimidated by authority, making it even more challenging for parents and
caregivers to raise them properly. Parents really need to ask themselves what
boundaries to set for their children regarding the use of the Internet, how
much pressure to place upon their children, and how much discipline to instill
from an early age. In doing so, parents may be able to provide the right dose
of stimulation, discipline, and freedom required for children to grow as
responsible individuals and have fulfilling lives as adults. 6
