The jaguar is in danger of extinction due to habitat loss and human activities. It lives in Central and South America and has a short, compact, and muscular build that allows it to climb and swim easily. It mainly hunts peccaries, deer, monkeys, and other mammals but also eats birds, fish, reptiles, and carrion. Despite its strength and sharp teeth and claws, the jaguar population is declining.
