REPRESENTATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
 Responsible for managing the full spectrum of the staff recruitment and hiring process,
ensuring screening and hiring of over 100 individuals; designed effective onboarding
program in support of the company’s reorganization. This initiative was essential as diversity
and inclusion were critical to the company’s future success.
 Adept at facilitating supervisory and management training on interviewing, performance
management, and harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace. Outside
employment attorney considered the harassment and sexual harassment seminar to be
“one of the best.”
 Successfully coached supervisors in employee engagement resulting in performance
improvement and reduced turnover. Effective mentor to subordinates.
 Led implementation of HR information systems, including HRIS PeopleSoft and Kronos
Time and Attendance Procedure, resulting in increased efficiency in budgeting and payroll
processing, and also improved employee morale and productivity. After implementation,
number of incorrect paychecks decreased from 10-15 per pay period to zero.
 During bankruptcy, developed and implemented new processes and procedures for
administering benefit plans, including the 401(k) plan, ensuring that monthly employee
deferrals were processed in compliance with federal laws.
 Successfully led union negotiations resulting in contract representing over 500 bargaining
unit employees.
 Established company’s first professional HR department. Developed HR procedures and
personnel policies for new Employee Handbook.

Illinois agency that administers Medicaid and Child Support Services; $20 billion budget; 2,400
employees.
Deputy Director Administrative Operations (2015 – 2017)
 Developed new procedures which improved timely and accurate payments to essential
vendors by 30%.
 Identified new office space, which resulted in reduced lease costs by 25%.
 Expanded availability of motor pool from two to ten offices throughout Illinois, reducing travel
costs by 20%, through increased use of state vehicles.
 Established new travel protocols; significantly reduced overtime costs in excess of $100,000

 Negotiated new supplemental agreement with American Federation of State, County, and

 Facilitated or personally conducted numerous investigations of employee grievances and
alleged employee misconduct. Recommended appropriate discipline.
