I am going to present about first aid kit. First aid kit is a collection of
supplies and equipment used to give immediate medical treatment,
primarily to treat injuries.

4. ITEMS THAT A FIRST AID KIT MUST
HAVE
 Thermometer
 Trauma shear
 Medical gloves
 Safety pins
 Cotton wool
 Hard sanitizer
 Elastic bandages
 Gauze pad
 Gauze bandages

5. MEDICATIONS IN FIRST AID KIT
 Pain relievers( such as ibuprofen)
 Antihistamines( for allergies)
 Antacids
 Anti-diarrheal medications
 Hydrogen peroxide

6. USES OF ITEMS FOUND IN FIRST
AID KIT
 Medical gloves used to protect against dangerous bodily fluids
 Gauze pads used for dressing minor cuts and scrapes
 Thermometer used to measure body temperature
 Safety pins used for pinning bandages

7. FIRST AID VERSUS FIRST AIDER
First aid is the first treatment given to a person after an accident before the arrival of
the medical personnel while first aider is the person who has received the certificate
from an authorized training body indicating that he or she is qualified to render first
aid.

8. PRINCIPLES OF FIRST AID
 Preserve life
 Promote recovery
 Taking immediate action
 Calming down the situation
 Calling for medical assistance
 Apply the relevant treatment

9. THINGS A FIRST AIDER SHOULD USE
WHEN THERE IS NO FIRST AID KIT ITEMS
 Smooth plastics to cover hands in absence of medical glove
 To dress a first aider can use a soft clean cloth if gauze pad is not there
 The hands can be used to detect the hotness and coldness of a person in absence
of thermometer
 A clean soft cloth can be used to apply lotions in absence of cotton wool

10. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FIRST
AIDERS
o Protect from danger
o Identify illness or injury
o Ensure dignity of the patient
o Transportation as appropriate
o Good communication to the patient

I suggest people should be trained for being the first aiders so that they
could help where the is an accident and serve other people’ s lives
