Remember: Your Supervisor will judge you from 8,000kms
away. So be polite, and Professional. Train yourself.
17. Some Suggestions
Become a “good student”, no need to become a “good CGPA holder
student”.
For Bachelor’s Students:
1. Work with your CGPA (what is in your hand work with that, don’t be overwhelmed),
2. Increase knowledge relevant to your field (read one article each week: it takes only 30
minutes, watch biological short videos: 15 minutes daily),
3. Read English - Newspaper, Books (Man! Start from Zero, give yourself time. Think about
your childhood),
4. Listen to Podcast, documentary to videos, listen news (movie, song: NO),
5. Speak: daily give speech for 1-5 minutes in English on a specific topic (Record it with
date),
6. Try to gain hands on experience on laboratory techniques (at least theory)
18. How to Cover up the Lackings of
Experience
Don’t feel stressed, start from zero, everyone do that, there is no rush! Remember about your
childhood: you started speaking at 1.5-2 years of age! Do you remember? Give yourself
time.
- Read scientific papers and try to understand,
- Write review paper,
- Read different techniques (and search them in youtube, download them, don’t watch online).
Then see and take some notes. And preserve that for future,
- Improve you English (speaking, listening, writing, reading).
Precaution: Don’t be “Jack of All Master of none!”
