4. Double page spread – I’ve noticed that the majority of film article
reviews that I have found are in the form of a double page spread. It
allows for a large main image to draw the reader in whilst leaving
sufficient space for article text. For the reason I feel it would be more
advantageous.
Stand first – A short quote or summary of a film that will attract the target
audience. More often than not the stand first is crucial to getting an
audience to read the article and so it is often controversial and
persuasive.
Article quote – Used to emphasise the most important or a particularly
controversial point in an article.
Main image – Acts as a direct address to the target audience, enticing
them to read the article.
Background film information - An audience may be drawn to read an
article because of Hollywood stars and/or directors and having some
from of background film information to convey the starts will draw in an
audience. Furthermore, having background film information gives the
reader some context into the article.
Article text – Usually broken up into two or 3 columns.
Footer – Used to promote other notable article/stories within the
magazine.
