Introduction
 Technology is advancing at a faster pace than ever before, and
this is changing both the expectations of customers as well as
the way in which the hospitality industry conduct its business.
 Some of the technological trends in the industry are leading to
great improvements and savings for the hotels.
Ex: landscape, infrastructure, management structure and
staffing requirements.
Technical features used in Hotels
 Hospitality industry is an updated one, whenever a new
technical feature is introduced the hoteliers try to install that
system to the Hotel, to give a better experience to the
customers.
 At the same time customers expectations
also growing, they like to have different
experience in their stay.
 To meet the challenge of growing customer expectations,
the hospitality industry is turning to technology.
 Innovation will be enable hotel operators to stand out
from the competition, fulfill every guest’s expectations
and attract new customers.
 A positive experience of a guest not only impact their
stay but also influence the good will of the hotel, good
online reviews, ‘word of mouth’ will bring more
customers etc.
 Hotel Hilton in America was introduced this automated
check-in and check-out machines.
 Now most of the large hotels in the world are turning to
this method.
 It attract more customers and having 100% occupancy
most of the time.
 Automated technology is revolutionizing the service
industry, and hotels are the latest sector to incorporate
self-service facilities in order to improve customer
experience and efficiency.
 At the beginning the check-in and check-out process was
made manually by the employees, then it was updated to
computerized systems and the latest trend is to use
automated check-in and check-out machines and mobiles.
 Self-service in hotels is in terms of automated check-in,
room selection, checkout, secure payment etc.
 It reduce making queues in the front office.
 Self check-in creates upsell and revenue opportunities.
 Lead among competitors.
 Boost revenue
Advantages
 More effective and efficiency
 Reduce costs and paper wastages.
 Prevent errors
 Enhance customer experience and loyalty.
 Attract more customers.
Disadvantages
 Cost is high at the beginning.
 Operators must have a good knowledge.
 In case of system failure or power failure it’s difficult to
operate.
 Hackers can easily hack.
 Hospitable is not there or less.
 Decrease the relationships between humans (guest and staff).
Conclusion
 Technologies are used in hotels to give a better experience
and to speed-up its operations.
 Automated check-in and check-out machines are operated
by the guest and it’s a quick access method to the hotel
room.
 It increase more delight and loyalty customers, revenue,
good reviews and good standard than competitors.
