Computer-mediated communication (CMC) refers to any communication that occurs through computers and the internet, including communication tools like email, instant messaging, video conferencing, and social media. CMC has several advantages for organizations in that it allows for faster communication over long distances, easier sharing of files and information, and less need for in-person meetings. However, CMC also presents challenges as some important aspects of in-person communication can be lost without visual cues or body language.
