Smart Fueling Solution With An Integrated Logistic & Transportation System
2. FuelTrans:
An integrated logistics and transportation solution for oil marketing companies.
FuelTrans brings full visibility and automation of the transportation process, from request to planning and fulfilment.
An end-to-end solution for retail automation of the downstream Oil & Gas Industry offering real-time visibility and control of the entire retail operations.
It covers every major component of the fuel station including the pump, dispenser & tank and covers vehicle identification, wet stock management and
fleet contracts.
3. Problem :
Oil market company unable to trace the driver location and vehicle logistics status.
Situation:
To have a 360° view of the entire oil distribution logistics operations.
Opportunity :
FuelTrans enables Oil Marketing companies to manage and optimize their logistics assets and resources, and brings full visibility and automation of the
transportation process, from request to planning and fulfillment. This system also provides a Secondary Distribution Information Hub that gives a 360° view of
oil distribution, logistics, and operations.
FuelTrans automates the entire Secondary Supply Chain with almost no-manual intervention.
Situation/Problem/Opportunity:
4. Business Process Model (BPM):
Goal- To develop an online model for Oil Marketing companies to manage and optimize their logistics
assets and resources
Inputs- Order Id , Track id, Driver Id, Oil station details, Tank Parameters
Outputs – FuelTrans provides a Secondary Distribution Information Hub that gives a 360° view of oil
distribution, logistics, and operations
Activities- Web application Account login, Information about Orders, Order ID. Application database,
Order details, driver details.
End value to user- Oil Company will cover every major component of the fuel station from the pump,
dispenser and tank, and covers vehicle identification, wet stock management and fleet contracts.
5. Objectives :
Purpose Statement (Goals):
To Deliver an online model for Oil Marketing companies to manage & optimize their logistics assets and resources
Project Objectives:
The O&G product journey, right through the Midstream and Downstream processes, is extremely complex,
It is a disconnected view of asset and resource data.
Gaining a 360° view of the end-to-end oil distribution logistics and retail operations would simplify the entire process
It will reducing costs and increasing monthly volume delivery.
Also offers complete visibility of data, assets & resources, & automates processes to increase productivity & reduce costs.
Success Criteria:
Improve data records availability and accessibility of information about products.
Solve the issues, and take reviews from customers
Reduced fulfilment time by 25% through automation
Net Margin improvements of up to 1% by dynamic optimization of emerging constraints
100% Own fleet optimization & 1% Net Margin improvements delivered
Order to loading time reduced by 6 hours
Vehicle Availability planning enables Order to Vehicle Allocation in less than a minute
6. Implementation and Model :
Methods/Approach:
The waterfall approach will be the best Approach.
This phases of this project would require analysis , design ,
development and testing and UAT / Prod Deployment.
User stories will be main lead of the project.
This method would reduce risk.
Training/User Manual will be provided to each user and
employee for easy understanding of project.
Fueltrans Model Design
7. Resources & Risks:
Resources:
People – Project team members from client community and BCT.
Time – implementation within 9 months.
Budget – hardware, software, training and services not to exceed Rs.10,00,000.00
Other – third party software evaluation, site visits, Dataquest reports – not to exceed Rs. 2,00,000
Risks and Dependencies:
Current solution in place for over 2.5+ years and it is intuitive to current users.
Cost justification in ease of use, quality of information, speed of accessibility, ease of support and maintenance is
difficult to quantify in a way management can see improvements in utilization of system investment
