1. Legal Counsel, Bratislava EMEA
Provision of legal services to Swiss Re’s Slovakia-based companies and branches, and to the EMEA Reinsurance
Business Unit generally
The opportunity
For the Swiss Re companies, businesses and operations in Slovakia:
- Provide legal and compliance advice on day-to-day matters arising from local operations;
- Manage corporate and regulatory matters, including corporate secretariat, for the local Slovak entities;
- Develop and review contractual agreements, notably in the area of sourcing and intra-group service agreements;
- Support Global Service Operations to comply with local laws and internal policies on outsourcing functions to the
Slovak entities;
- Advise local operations units (HR; IT; Logistics; Records Mgt) in legal matters;
- Assist in managing Slovak outside counsel;
- Provide general advice on Slovak law and practice, including advice on legal and compliance risks affecting local
operation; and
- Operate as part of the Swiss Re Legal Department
About you About us
- Slovak law qualified (Master Degree in Law)
Demonstrated competence and experience in:
- Company law and corporate governance,
commercial contracts (eg outsourcing, distribution
and supply);
- Drafting agreements, corporate documents and
other business records in the English language to a
professional standard;
- Working in multi-disciplinary teams; and
- Managing the needs and expectations of clients.
Prior experience of 2-4 years in a law firm of
international reputation or as in-house counsel of
an international company.
Fluency in English is required; in addition, German
and any language skills would be an advantage.
