17. Socialmatic Camera
• With Instagram now marching forward like a tank on a
battlefield, it’s not surprising that some people dream up
ridiculously genius concepts based on its services. Take ADR
Studio‘s Antonio De Rosa for example. He designed a
concept camera that must be the geekiest one yet. Based on
the actual logo, he conceptualized the camera that he calls
Socialmatic for everyone to see. So what about the specs?
Well, they would include 16GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi and
Bluetooth connectivity, a 4.3-inch touchscreen, two lenses –
one for every day photography and another for taking 3D
images, optical zoom, AR apps and QR code scanning and an
LED flash. If anything, this badboy is enough to make me
and many more people interested in just how deep you can
go with Instagram before you reach the limit.
24. One of the most popular and controversial celebrity accounts on
Instagram, Rihanna @badgalriri, went silent for nearly six months
this year, leaving her more than 12 million followers in the dark.
But she popped back up early Sunday, posting two shots in quick
succession with the hashtags #badgalback and #RIHunited.
Her sudden reappearance prompted a torrent of likes and tens of
thousands of comments, many of them celebrating her return.
Instagram clearly seemed happy to have her back, announcing her
return in a celebratory tweet.
Rihanna's relationship with Instagram went awry in May after she
posted a topless photo ….

26. Chelsea Handler boycotts Instagram over
topless picture
Comedienne Chelsea Handler is boycotting Instagram after the site twice
deleted a topless photograph of her.
The “This Means War” star was lampooning Russian president Vladimir Putin
when she was photographed riding a horse topless in a wooded area. Putin
was photographed in a similar pose in 2009.
When Handler first posted the image, she attached the caption, “Anything a
man can do, a woman has the right to do better. #kremlin.” Instagram cited
its nudity guidelines before removing the shot.
The upset star then took to Twitter to post a screenshot of the image, writing,
“Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to show I have a better body
than Putin.”
After posting the shot on Instagram for a second time, the funny woman
grumbled about her rights, stating, “If instagram takes this down again, you’re
saying Vladimir Putin has more 1st amendment rights than me. Talk to your
bosses.”
Following the deletion of the second post, Handler went on to declare she
would exclusively use Twitter as she feels censored on Instagram.
She added a caption to a picture of her two dogs, writing, “You can now find
my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only where my followers have the right to
choose what they say. Bye bye instablock.”
29. Hashtag
- Use hashtags in your username
- Add hashtags to your photo description
- Comment on other photos with hashtags
- Create or use a hashtag for an event
- Use hashtags to promote contests
30. Engage with Your Community
Spend some time browsing Instagram to see what people not only in your
industry are posting, but also what your customers and competitors are
posting. See what photos they engage with, who they follow, and which
photos they like and comment on.
Find people you consider might be your key demographic and start to
engage with them. Like and comment on their photos. If they are interested
in what you do (or what your company offers), they will be likely to engage
back and follow your account.
31. Participate in Community Events or
Promotions
Contests and promotions are a great way to get people excited and talking about
your business and/or brand. Plus, when done right, they can encourage word of
mouth marketing, serve as a way to give back to your fans, followers and customers,
as well as add followers, fans and brand advocates.
Contests also allow you to source great user-generated content, allowing your fans
and followers to do the content creation for you.
32. Display Instagram Photos at Live
Events
If your brand or company is hosting an upcoming event, a great way to gain
additional exposure to your Instagram account is to display your photos live at
the event.
Social media has become an integrated and integral part of any big event –
whether it’s an industry conference, music festival, wedding or football game.
Social media displays for events can be a great way to energize the crowd,
source user-generated content, and encourage people to Instagram away!
