2. Report
Introduction:-
Students of Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture
Multan avail a chance to visit Mumtaz khan manias agriculture farm situated at Tiba
Sultan Pur District Vehari Dated :-9-5-15 at 9:30 A.M farm consisting of 300 acre land
consisting of farm machinery,orchards(mango,citrus,grapes,date palm,papaya,oil seed
crops etc).students met with Mumtaz Khan,Al-e-imran.
Objective:-
 to observe the farm agriculture practices
 to observe latest farm machinery
 to observe drip irrigation system
 to observe the work of mechanical milk vacumer
 to observe how remove stubbles and its uses
 to observe the work of grass cutter machines
 to observe the work of Farm yard manure spreader
Methdology:-
Students of Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture read a
course I&D-312 in which they learn topic drip irrigation system theoretically and to learn it
practically they take a tour to Mumtaz khan manais farm.At 6:30A.M Students along with
Doc Alamgeer and Doc Iqbal were ready to go to farm and reached at 9:00A.M.There
they visit wheat field, grass field, drip irrigated citrus orchard,grape orchard,farm in which
machinery was present.
Results and Discussion:-
At 9:00A.M students visit wheat field in which wheat
was harvested by Combine harvester.wheat straw which remain left in field is picked by
wheat straw bailer and automatically rolled and turn into bind by the rope. By this way
straw is being saved and used for animals.A common farmer who does not know the
importance of wheat straw, he burns this wheat straw and destroy organic matter which
can replenish its soil.wheat straw is being used in
 paper industry
 Tissue Paper industry
 Chip board

3. Wheat straw bailer machine is driven by tractor and totally automatically operated.if we
save this wheat straw then we save 48 arab money.The bail weight is of 20 kg and as well
as 200 kg.this machine mostly used at night time because at day time straws are not
tighten fully and ultimately bails are not good formed.
The machine is imported from india
at the cost of 30 lakh.At this farm this machine is being work till 1990 and the straw are
saved and then used for animals by mixing with grass.The favourite bailer is square
shaped bailer.The expense of one bail is 30 rupees.At Toyota Multan Motors the picture
of bail is present for beauty of the Toyota Multan Motors.
After visiting wheat field students visit
Grass field.Mister Mumtaz Khan introduce the use of grass cutter machine.cutters are of
two types
 Tractor driven grass cutter
 Small engine grass cutter
Tractor driven machine are attached with tractor and cut the grass by the line.This
machine is mostly used to cut the Sorghum.
Small engine grass cutter are driven by the small
engine power(10hp) and this machine is very fast for cutting of the grass.One litre diesel is
being used for 3 days cutting of grass for 250 animals within 8 minute
The advantage of this machine is to save time and energy

4. After this students visit citrus orchard irrigated by drip irrigation system.citrus were
seedless.For drip irrigation citrus plant are planted in straight rows and the nozzles are
attached with main pipe line and these nozzles are laid around the two sides of the
plant canopy.
Nozzles are attached according to plant age and height.This method is
totally operated by main valve.
For drip irrigation 500 ft tank are used and this tank is
totally operated by solar power.Near the centre of tank a small tank is present to apply
the fertilizer.One bag is used for 5 acre.The requirement of water for plant for one day
is 36 litre.This irrigation system is very expensive and therefore used rare.This
machine is imported from india and being used till 1990.The efficacy of this system is
20 times more.This irrigation system is firstly used in Israel for an area of 390km.
A fish farm was also present in which 5 type of fish
were present.The weight of fish is 1-1.25/kg.These fish does not mate with each
other.Formation of fish farm is useful for those land which is barren and can’t use for
plantation,in this type of soil sowing of fish crop is useful.
After this students visit farm yard manure spreader which is used to spread the

5. farm yard manure into field mechanically then they visit grape orchard.
Students saw all the machinery present in the farm.Mister Mumtaz told their usage.

6. After all of these activities there was a refreshment programme arranged by
Mister Mumtaz Khan for students. All the students took a group photo.
After refreshment Students went towards dairy farm,in this farm milk was extracted by
the use of Mechanical Milk vacumer and students observe that this machine is really
useful because this is time saving and milk is free from other residues from outer
sides.The machine was so fast that it extract milk within 10 minutes
After this student visit Head sidhnai.

7. Addition to Knowledge:-
The cow of this farm gives milk 62 litre/one day ,Punjab government awarded
Gold medal to Mister Mumtaz for this achievement
The weight of wheat of this farm per acre is 78 mons/acre ,Punjab Government
awarded Mister Mumtaz with tractor for this achievement
Conclusion:-
 Students learn how to spread water by drip irrigation system .this was opportunity
for students to learn those things more better which they read only in books and
don’t perform them
 Students learn how a farmer manage his farm with new technologies as he uses
machines to save wheat straw ,he uses machine to extract milk because it save
time and pure milk obtained by this way
 Students learn that there are many flaws in our education programme because
all seeds that are sowing are imported from india because in Pakistan no seeds
are produced.Farmers buy machines from other countries because Pakistan
does not make machines.
Recommendation:-
 Flaws should be removed that are present in our education programme for the
progress of Pakistan
 Farmers that are illiterate,basic information should be provided to them that how
more efficiently they can use land and can get benefit
