6. MANJIRA MEDIKA
Manjari Medika is a juice variety rich in
antioxidant anthocyanins and polyphenols
having various health benefits. The variety
recorded yield of 16-17 Kg/vine with a juice
recovery up to 70%. The variety gave an
anthocyanin recovery of 4-6 g/kg of fresh
grape and seed oil recovery of 10%. The grape
seed oil was found rich in Vitamin E (Gamma
Tcotrienol) compared to seed oil of
commercial wine varieties
7. MANJARI SHYAMA
• A black coloured table purpose variety developed from cross
between Black Champa and Thompson Seedless. It is a high
yielding variety with 16-18 kg/vine with average bunch
weight of 350-450 g. Due to the presence of rudimentary
seeds, it has rich antioxidant property. The average berry
diameter is around 18-20 mm with 18-20oBrix and 4.5-5.5
g/l acidity. Also it is moderately resistance to downy mildew
disease. The package of practices for this variety is similar to
that of Thompson Seedless.
8. ARI-516
• “ARI-516 is a multi-purpose grape variety with a musky flavour and
is moderately resistant fungal diseases. It is also an early maturing
variety that yields about 16 to 20 tonnes per acre (40 to 50 tonnes
per hectare),” said Sujata Tetali, the scientist who developed the
variety by interbreeding of two species from the same genus –
Catawba variety of Vitis labrusca and Beauty seedless variety of
Vitis vinifera . The current average productivity of grapes in India is
around 25 tonnes per hectare.

9. Decision Support System for Grapes
• Background Grape is high-skilled crop and expert advice is required on
day to day basis. Most of the viticultural operations are dependent on
phenology, weather and soil factors. These factors are site-specific and
vary from farm to farm. Therefore, the problems are site-specific and the
expert advice also varies from farm to farm. Technology Details To
provide farm-specific advisory to the farmers, decision support systems
(DSS) were developed for irrigation and nutrition management, pest and
disease risk assessment and advisory for their management.
• Decision support system will improve the grape grower’s ability to take
crucial management decisions on time. It will provide recommendations
to the grower based on his/her crop data, farm data, and prevailing
weather conditions that will support or assist grower’s decision making
capacity in terms of water, irrigation, pest and disease management.
10. • It will also help in guiding growers on pest and disease risks and
nutrient use based upon soil and petiole test and problems caused
due to heat and moisture stress. Application programming interface
(API) has been developed which processes inputs given by mobile or
web application and gives outputs for use in the application. The
access to this API can be provided to licensed mobile or web
application service providers who will give access of DSS to farmers
via his web/mobile application. The service provider may be given
license for API access for fixed duration
