2. Roles and Responsibilities:
Engineering & Project Management
Develop electrical distribution systems for large industrial applications and plans these
systems using recognized industry standards and specifications.
Perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems – load flow, voltage
drop, motor starting, short circuit studies, HT & LT cable selection, switchgear selection,
Transformer selection and relay coordination studies.
Responsible for electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
Planning for Optimal power distribution scheme for integrated Steel Plant
Preparation of PLC configuration & logic diagram.
Guidance of preparation of building plan & equipment layout such as point of supply and
cable trench layout, main HT & LT electrical room layout, Earthing scheme & Earthing layout,
cable tray layout with detailed section etc.
Conducting Study & Detail Engineering for Automation Process.
Knowledge in SIEMENS S7-300,400 PLC system.
Knowledge of ladder logic programming (Simatic S7 V5.5) used in PLC and programming
of SCADA system (Wincc V7.0).
Executing a series of test to ensure that PLC, the ladder logic program, the I/O devices and
associated wiring operate accordingly to specifications
Planning & scheduling of E&I activities.
Review & checking of vendor drawings.
Expertise in installing & commissioning of HV & LV switchgears, transformers.
Installation & commissioning of field instruments.
Operation & Maintenance
(40T Electric Arc Furnace, Raw Material Handling System & Fume Extraction System)
Supervising the functions of troubleshooting & predictive / preventive maintenance for
identifying areas of obstructions and reducing machinery downtime to minimum.
Executing cost saving and energy saving techniques/ measures and modifications to
achieve substantial reduction in O&M expenditures and work within the budget.
Managing overall activities pertaining to maintenance of a wide range of Electrical
equipments like Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Motors, Siemens SCADA / PLC Systems and
process control & Instrumentation equipments.
Condition Monitoring and Predictive maintenance of critical equipment and corrective
actions to avoid breakdown.
Troubleshooting & modification of electrical and automation system.
Planning for resources and manpower for planned shutdown of the plant and execution
including start-up.
Responsible for the procurement of various electrical spares.
TPM planning & implementation.
