To whom it may concern,
My name is Rachael Gilligan. I am a Graduate of Sonoma State University with a Bachelor's in
Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. I graduated in May 2015. Sonoma State helped me
excel and earned Dean's list status for most of my time there.
I am a friendly and outgoing person. I love meeting and getting to know new people. This is
part of what makes me a good leader. I have volunteered with West Sonoma County Health Services in
a group called Project Success. We worked to pass a Social Host Ordinance in Sebastopol. This would
fine adults caught giving minors alcohol. It passed in 2010. I also worked with youth outreach. I helped
plan and organize trips to middle schools around the county to instruct them on the dangers of
substance abuse. Drug and alcohol abuse is an epidemic that is affecting a large percentage of our
youth. This behavior starts at a young age so our group was dedicated to teaching them younger to help
save them from a lot of pain. Growing up in foster care I saw this first hand and have always been
determined to rise above and help those less fortunate. I am passionate about helping people.
Another one of my many passions is cooking. Ever since I baked my first chocolate chip cookie
at 11 years old I have been obsessed with it. I cook and bake whenever an opportunity arises. My
cooking experience has really taught me how to multitask which has helped me in a lot of different
aspects in my life.
I have always found marketing to be a very interesting field. During the pursuit of my degree I
took a large amount of classes in marketing and found them to be very helpful and quite fascinating. I
would love the opportunity to work with your company. Thank you so much for your time and I look
forward to hearing from you.
