1. Catholic Social Services provides comprehensive in-home
maternal counseling in Franklin County. We believe that
offering counseling in the home is essential to the success
of new mothers and their babies.
WHY
Parents of young children often need the support of
counseling, but cannot make it to office appointments
because of barriers like transportation and child care.
WHO
Catholic Social Services’ licensed clinicians provide
counseling to any Medicaid eligible individuals living
in Franklin County who are pregnant, parenting, or
caretaker for a child 12 months of age or younger.
WHERE
Counseling sessions are offered at the client’s home
or in our office at 197 E. Gay Street. Appointments in
the evening are only held in our office.

WHAT
Our clients work with a licensed
clinician. Services include:
n Mental health counseling
n Exploration of life stressors
such as difficulty coping with
life changes, poverty, relationship
problems, isolation or lack of
support, teen pregnancy, trauma,
postpartum depression, and other
perinatal mood and anxiety issues
n Implementation of a coping and
support plan
n Parenting education
n Linkage with other resources
