What is Fieldwork?
● Practical work conducted by a
researcher in the natural environment,
rather than in a laboratory or office.
● Site-based consulting
○ example: you are interested in
water infrastructures - you ask
series of questions surrounding
what they do, how they do it, and
how often it is evaluated / updated.

What is a Product?
● Lead a seminar
● Participate in a local campaign
● Build an online campaign (website
and social media)

How is a Product Different From Fieldwork?
● Fieldwork should inform your product -
it should help you make sense of what
you decide to do.
○ Example:
• You asked questions to an SCEG
and/or canal worker (fieldwork).
• You worked service hours by
handing out bottles of water to
flood victims (product).

What do I do for my research paper?
● Choose an arguable and researchable topic - based
on your fieldwork & your product.
● Use narrow topic to formulate a position
statement:
○ Re-evaluating a city’s water infrastructure
yearly should be mandatory.
● You will create an annotated bibliography to
evaluate credible sources surrounding your topic.
● The 4-6 page argumentative paper is completed in
English IV
● It counts toward the Senior Experience and as a
grade in your English IV class.

What is my Exhibition?
● 8-10 minutes presentation with a five-minute Q
& A.
● Include a multimedia presentation component
(movie, slide show, etc.) to showcase your
senior expedition.
● You will coordinate the date, time, and location
for the exhibition and invite your adviser, one
community member, and one additional
teacher
● Students are required to attend 3 peer
exhibitions and evaluate each performance and
senior experience.

What is the Personal Reflection?
● A reflection based on your growth and
experience with this exhibition.
● Your personal reflection will be 2-4 pages.
What is the Peer Evaluation?
● An evaluation based on 3 peer exhibitions.
● This is a separate summative grade.
