Buyer/ Inventory Control Specialist Supervisor Healthcare Industry
Buyer/ Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking
overages, shortages, and damages, as well as receipts, returns, and shipping functions to ensure proper
documentation in a aggressive healthcare Industry. This person will also be responsible for the coordination of
the daily activities of the inventory control group
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and good housekeeping on a daily basis
• Schedule and processed over 25 purchase orders for all Inpatient and similar nursing departments
• Create, maintain and distribute inventory reports to track counts for inventory control staff
• Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by interacting with team members and other
departments utilizing Lawson 9.0 inventory management software
• Maintain reports to ensure all LOT’s / Serial codes are processed according to customer agreements
• Generate reports on a daily/weekly and monthly basis for customers
• Ensures production performance KPIs goals are set, maintained, and tracked daily for improvements.
KPIs include: cycle count efficiencies with 95% accuracy
• Maintains high level of Quality, Customer Service, and regulatory compliance with JHCO agencies
• Manages a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with
Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations. Ensures adherence to proper safety and sanitation
regulations and the appropriate policies/procedures
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, team and senior management in order to
communicate effectively and strategically implement solutions
• Implemented Mobile Supply Chain project in Inpatient nursing department. Project reduced nursing staff time
and a soft savings of $10,000/ a year
• Coaches employees and holds them accountable for following company policies
• Effectively monitored and maintain contract pricing for all medical supplies on contract. Negotiated products
not on contract with Medline sales representative with savings of over $100,000 a year
