NPWT dressing kits feature the patent-pending ComforCap®
tubing
connection. This allows easier application and eliminates leaks associated with
competing designs. Further, LipoGel®
may be used with the kits to slow the return
of biofilm and reduce pain during dressing changes by inhibiting tissue ingrowth and
limiting tissue loss.
IodoFoam®
Iodophor Foam Dressing is a sterile single use foam dressing that is
complexed with iodine to create a controlled release of iodophor. IodoFoam®
releases
iodine to kill the bacteria while absorbing wound fluid and changes color from black
to white to indicate the iodine is depleted, thus the dressing should be changed.
LipoGel®
provides a great DEFENSIVE strategy to inhibit biofilm reconstitution
and maturation, preferably post debridement. Unlike typical wound gels it will
not dilute, migrate, or disperse with exudate. It can be used in combination with
IodoFoam®
to prevent drying of wound bed and with GelTex®
kits to prevent tissue
ingrowth into the foam.
