on the official web site
(for students who want to
practice before taking the
placement test for the first
time and get familiar with the
format of the test and
available tools)

2. Go to
aleks.com/free_trial/consumer
Click TRY ALEKS NOW

3. Check “I have read and
agree the Terms of Use”
box and click Continue.

4. Enter your name, last
name, and email address
(I suggest that you use
your personal email
address).

5. From the “Independent Use Type”,
drop-down menu select your user
type.
For this purpose, I selected “Parent
Supplementing Child’s
Public/Private Schooling”, but you
can choose other user type.

6. From the drop-down menu
Select Your Market – pick
“Higher Education | Math”.

7. Click on “Course product”
from the drop – down menu
and choose the math
course.
You can choose whichever
level of math you feel most
comfortable with from the
options offered. The Basic
Math level is the best place
to start, and you can move
up to the higher level once
you master all the skills.
Click Continue.

8. You don’t need to use
any Login Names nor
Passwords, just click
Continue.

9. Learn more about
ALEKS and click Next.

10. Click Next.

11. Click Get Started.

12. Explore ALEKS website.
You can find Main Menu
at the top left corner.
Click next.

13. Notifications are at the
top right corner.
Click Next.

14. Click Next.

15. Click Get Started.

16. In this video, we are

tutorial. You can find
various videos on how
to use ALEKS Tools in
this YouTube channel.
Click Skip Tutorial.

17. Click Continue.

18. Click
START KNOWLEDGE CHECK
to start practicing.

22. Get familiar with
ALEKS practice and
knowledge check page.
Calculator is located at
the top right corner,
right above Tools Help
button.
Click Start Knowledge
Check.

23. Start practicing.
Unfortunately, you will not
receive a score at the
end, but you can check
your answers with a math
tutor, professor, or friend.
Taking this free practice
test is a good way to
familiarize yourself with
ALEKS and its tools, and
the test format.
