Abaca belongs to banana family. Its
fiber has a natural luster with colors
ranging from pure white to ivory dark
brown. Eastern Visayas is the widest
abaca supplier.

Bakbak is the outermost covering or
leaf sheath of abaca stalk. It is a flat

12. 4. BUNTAL
Buntal is a cylindrically shaped fiber.
The supple ivory while strands are
quite durable, pliable, and have good
dyeing qualities. The most noted
producers are the provinces of Bohol,
Pangasinan, Marinduque, and Quezon.

Nito is a plant belonging to the fern
family that grows abundantly in the

Pandan is a tropical plant. It is
