2. INTRODUCTION
• Air-conditioning is that process used to create
and maintain certain temperature, relative
humidity and air purity conditions in indoor
spaces. This process is typically applied to
maintain a level of personal comfort.
3. The types of Air conditioning systems :
• Window Air Conditioner,
• Split Air Conditioner,
• Ductless mini-split systems
•
• Central Air Conditioner.
• Portable Air Conditioner
• Hybrid Air Conditioners
• Geothermal Heating & Cooling

6. Air conditioner (AC) working principle
• An air conditioner collects hot air from a
given space, processes it within itself with the
help of a refrigerant and a bunch of coils and
then releases cool air into the same space
where the hot air had originally been
collected. This is essentially how all air
conditioners work.
7. Air conditioner (AC) working principle
An air conditioner collects hot air from
a given space, processes it within itself
with the help of a refrigerant and a
bunch of coils and then releases
cool air into the same space where the
hot air had originally been collected.
8. WORKING OF WINTER AIR
CONDITIONING SYSTEM:
The outside air flows through a damper and
mixes up with the recirculated air
( which is obtained by the conditioned space ).
The mixed air passes through a filter to
remove dirt, dust and other impurities.
9. The air now passes through a preheat
coil in order to prevent he possible freezing
of water and to control the evaporation of
water in the humidifier.
10. From the conditioned space, a part of
the used air is exhausted to the
atmosphere by the exhaust fans or
ventilators.
After that, the air is made to pass
through a reheat coil to bring the air to the
designed dry bulb temperature .
11. Now, the conditioned air is supplied to
the conditioned space by a fan.
From the conditioned space, a part of
the used air is exhausted to the atmosphere
by the exhaust fans or ventilators.
12. The remaining part of the used air
( known as recirculated air ) is again
conditioned.
The outside air is sucked and made
to mix with recirculated air, in order to
make up for the loss of conditioned air
through exhaust fans or ventilation
from the conditioned space.
13. APPLICATION:
Winter air conditioning systems is
mainly use to convert cold air into hot
air.
They are used to maintain warmness
temperature in the room during winter
season.
They are especially suited to that
region where there is winter season
through out the year.
They are also used in the big
industries where the product need to
kept in warm temperature and to
maintain that same temperature for
long time.
14. WORKING OF SUMMER AIR
CONDITIONING SYSTEM:
Fans in the home blow air across the
evaporator's coils.
"As air from the house moves across the
evaporator, refrigerant within the coil picks up
the temperature of the air,"
"The refrigerant is absorbing heat from
the air and turns from a liquid to a vapor.
