12. Baseball
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between
two teams of nine players each. The goal is to
score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and
touching a series of four bases arranged at the
corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond.
Players on one team take turns hitting against
the pitcher of the other team , which tries to stop
them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in
any of several ways. A player on the batting team
can stop at any of the bases and later advance
via a teammate's hit or other means. The teams
switch between batting and fielding whenever the
fielding team records three outs. One turn at bat
for each team constitutes an inning; nine innings
make up a professional game. The team with the
most runs at the end of the game wins.

• Video creation for PSA purposes can really be
broken down into 8 simple steps:
– Step 1:
• Choose your topic or theme. Pick a subject that is
important to you. Keep your focus narrow and to the
point. Your PSA should revolve around one main idea.
– Step 2:
• Conduct your research. Gather facts and current data
on your topic. Statistics and references make a PSA
come to life. Be convincing and accurate.
24. How to Create Your Video:
– Step 3:
• Determine your audience. Are you targeting Parents?
Teens? Teachers? Community Members? What are
your audience’s needs? What will “turn them off?”
• Call for some type of “ACTION!” BE CLEAR!!!
– Step 4:
• Discuss how you will get your audience’s attention.
• You could use:
– Visual effects, dramatic pictures, messages, and music, etc.
– DON’T OVERDO IT!
25. How to Create Your Video:
– Step 5:
• Create your script. Keep it to a few simple statements.
• A 30-second PSA typically requires 5 – 7 statements.
– A 60-second PSA typically requires 10 – 15 statements.
• Be sure your info is up to date, accurate, and relevant.
• Highlight both MAJOR and MINOR points.
– Step 6:
• Create your storyboard.
– Where will you use each picture, sentence, music, etc.
• See Charlie Brown Example on next slide.
27. How to Create Your Video:
– Step 7:
• Construct your PSA.
• Film your footage, record your scripts, type in your
statements.
• Use Windows Movie Maker (preferably) or iMovie
– Step 8:
• Finalize your PSA, make sure it fulfills your original
purpose and meets all requirements.
– 30 – 60 seconds in length.
– Is uploaded to YouTube to be embedded into your
presentation.
– Plays on a school computer.
