Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Certification Testimonials 2018 19
1. Asad Mohammed Asaduzzaman FCILT
Certification in Humanitarian Supply Chain Management (CHSCM) Graduate
“It’s better late than never - I completed my CHSCM in early 2015 but am only now writing this
testimonial.
As soon as I started my CHSCM course, I found huge a distinction between an academic and a
professional study. In the course of CHSCM study, I enjoyed the freedom of freethinking vis-à-vis
humanitarian supply chain strategy, planning and configuration, operations and evaluation. It’s
mentionable that all the outcomes of thinking were well acknowledged by the tutor and
adequate guidance was provided.
CHSCM course has undoubtedly broadened my perspective, enhanced my capability to analyze
humanitarian supply chains from end to end, and increased my ability to configure supply chains
in a variety of contexts. Notably, after successful completion of CHSCM, I led supply chain for
Oxfam, Save the Children International and International Medical Corps in Nepal, Iraq and
Nigeria. I was also awarded with FCILT (Fellow, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK),
the highest tier of license of its type.
I managed to fund 4 logisticians from Save the Children International, Nepal for the CHL course
and 2 of my senior team members were awarded with CMILT membership from CILT UK through
my endorsement. I always recommend people to do CHL or CHSCM course. I did my thesis on
Promoting Local Market for Sustainable Supply Chain Solutions not for the sake of doing my
thesis but did as a believer and I have been an advocate of promotion of local market capacity as
a core commitment.”
2. Abdirizak Adan, Oxfam GB
Certification in Humanitarian Logistics (CHL) Graduate
“Since studying the course, I have changed my role from
Warehouse Officer to Logistics Manager, Global Humanitarian
Team. I’m now a fully certified Logistician and most NGOs
recognise my certificate (CHL).
Overall I felt the course was very valuable. It allowed me to get a
good grasp of how CHL can be applied in my job. In emergency
situations, I had the ability to quickly construct and operate a
supply chain to bring relief to those in need.
I have applied the knowledge gained from CHL Course and it has
really improved my performance. I have successfully completed
setting up of new base for Oxfam and improved tendering process
and working with other organizations during the emergencies.
I did recommend the course to many of my colleagues while
working in South Sudan and they have completed it too. Excellent
work, keep it up.”
3. Varvara (Valia) Lithari, Médecins Sans Frontiéres – Certification in
Humanitarian Medical Logistics Practices (MedLog) Graduate
“Logistics' is the magic word behind the scenes of an
emergency, responsible for making the supply network respond
promptly and effectively while building channels for the
humanitarian aid. When it comes to 'Medical Logistics', it is like
the magic itself comes intuitively to life; complicated by
default but with more aspects to be processed and scheduled
by line.
Many thanks to LLA, CILT, Fritz Institute and to the people who
helped/inspired/intrigued and allowed all this effort to come
true. My tutor Kenneth Akoko is among them!
The MedLog programme is a remarkable course, well-
structured and full of simulated examples, providing step-by-
step information on how the Humanitarian Medical Logistics
Practices don't rely on magic but on well-trained staff with
particular knowhow.”
4. now able to manage the health supply chain more
confidently and tactfully. This became possible due to
the generous scholarship by the Aspire, immense
administrative support from the team LLA, and
technical guidance and coaching of my tutor Kenneth
Akoko.
MedLog is a wonderful program, it’s a complete set of
learning and technical guidelines required to manage a
complex medical supply chain. This program is more
beneficial for the health logistician who is not
pharmacist like me. I'm so pleased to have my program
completed. Thank you Aspire, LLA, CILT and Fritz.”
Ali Asghar Qureshi – Certification in
Humanitarian Medical Logistics (MedLog)
5. Freddie Mukwekwe – Certification in Humanitarian
Logistics (CHL) Graduate
“During this course, I have developed my skills in checking goods
for quality and quantity on dispatch, checking the right type of
supplier by following the proper procurement procedures, the
importance of having the right type of vehicles and the importance
of working closely with agents.
The course helped me to understand that logistics in humanitarian
organisations is there to save lives and alleviate suffering. My
interaction with colleagues has improved and I am now being
consulted in all future plans and in some crucial meetings. I am now
able to serve beneficiaries more efficiently than before.
The time allocated was fine. I finished the course some 4 months
ahead of time. I am very confident and can now share the
knowledge in an amazing way to the rest of the people in the
organisation. I have recommended my work mates and two have
already started the programme.”
6. Said Ahmed Muse – Certification in Humanitarian
Medical Logistics Practices (MedLog) student
“I pass my regards to all Fritz Institute team , a
special acknowledgment goes to my Tutor Haydn Sandvig.
Indeed, my tutor taught me the practical applications of my
course.
He has tested my capability to think and develop my studies by
giving me follow up questions that certainly prepared me
enough to have the courage. I felt that my application in the
Case Study SCILaid and the follow up questions from my
institute and the coaching of my tutor and the perfect role
played by Logistics Learning Alliance will make me a perfect
medical logistician.
I am here to express that my happiness and my success was
through your hard work. You have provided a quality practical
application in logistics to the world so that humanitarian
logistics can work efficiently.”
