1. Give at least 3 expectations that community has for teachers.
1. be competent and effective.
2. be proficient in the use if instructional strategies, curriculum materials, advanced
educational technologies, and classroom management techniques.
3. have a thorough understanding of the developmental levels of their students.
2. How should a professional teacher regard indigenous people’s culture?
According to section 4 of Code of Ethics that " Every teacher shall live for and with
the community and shall , therefore , study and understand local customs and traditions
in order to have sympathetic attitude , therefore , refrain from disparaging the
community . " In this expects every teacher to live for and with the and traditions in order
to have a sympathetic attitude , therefore , community and shall , therefore study and
understand local customs refrain from disparaging the community . The professional
teacher it so does not look down on community 's culture because of the thought neither
ethnocentric nor xenocentric . He / she is not ethnocentric and that his / her culture is
superior to the culture of the community . Neither is he / she xenocentric and so looks at
his / her culture as inferior in to other community 's culture . Fortunate and happy is the
community that has teachers who live with them , exert effort to understand their local
customs and traditions and consequently appreciate the same . This author sees no
culture as perfect . Every culture including hers has its positive and negative aspects .
What we need to pass on are the positive aspects of the culture . We need to purify ,
however , the negative aspects with teacher pointing them out tactfully and sincerely .
3. In what other ways can parents and community leaders be involved in the school to
improve school performance?
Type of parents involvement in school :  Volunteering and attending parent - teacher
conferences and other school events such as fund - raising activities .  Engaging in
learning activities at home , including helping and checking the homework of their
children and supervising time use and behavior .
Type of community leaders involvement in school :  Officials in a community are ready
to provide help in improving the facilities of the school .  Becoming part of school board
4. One instance that proves that school-community partnership has been established is
the Brigada Eskwela of the DepEd. Research on what Brigada Eskwela is and the good
things it has brought to schools.
The conduct of Brigada Eskwela is very beneficial to school community most especially
to school head , teachers and learners . First , Brigada Eskwela saves resources on the
part of the school . It is this area that effectivity of the school to establish functional
linkage and networking to stakeholders is being tested

The professional teacher it so does not look down on community 's culture because of the thought neither ethnocentric nor xenocentric . He / she is not ethnocentric and that his / her culture is superior to the culture of the community . Neither is he / she xenocentric and so looks at his / her culture as inferior in to other community 's culture . Fortunate and happy is the community that has teachers who live with them , exert effort to understand their local customs and traditions and consequently appreciate the same . This author sees no culture as perfect . Every culture including hers has its positive and negative aspects . What we need to pass on are the positive aspects of the culture . We need to purify , however , the negative aspects with teacher pointing them out tactfully and sincerely . 3. In what other ways can parents and community leaders be involved in the school to improve school performance? Type of parents involvement in school :  Volunteering and attending parent - teacher conferences and other school events such as fund - raising activities .  Engaging in learning activities at home , including helping and checking the homework of their children and supervising time use and behavior . Type of community leaders involvement in school :  Officials in a community are ready to provide help in improving the facilities of the school .  Becoming part of school board 4. One instance that proves that school-community partnership has been established is the Brigada Eskwela of the DepEd. Research on what Brigada Eskwela is and the good things it has brought to schools.
  • 2. The conduct of Brigada Eskwela is very beneficial to school community most especially to school head , teachers and learners . First , Brigada Eskwela saves resources on the part of the school . It is this area that effectivity of the school to establish functional linkage and networking to stakeholders is being tested
