1. My Day
My Day – Personal Narrative Its 06:45 and my mobile phone alarm make's the worst noise that you could ever imagine. Using it as an alarm clock
is the only thing that it is useful for, the rest of the time it takes all my money off me. All phones do it, and guess who gets in trouble for the bill.
Anyway, after I finally find the button to shut the dam thing up, I usually moan till 07:00, about how it is 'too early', and that I should not still have to
be going to school. I'm getting bored of wearing the same uniform, and listening to the same squabbles going on from the day before. At 07:00, I

In about 30 seconds from now there should be a mixture of male menopause and teenage hormones throughout the house. My sister is 17 named
Stephanie, after Stephen– that's my dad's name. My sister is one of those older teenagers who have none of her priorities in order. She can be clever,
but she gets 'easily distracted'. I'll say no more about that. My sister and I get on very well. We talk to each other about stuff, and value each other's
opinion on clothes. My dad is into science, well, he likes Science fiction movies, but I suppose it's the same thing. He likes to think of himself as a
wise philosopher, but he's really a big kid and likes watching the Simpson's on TV. My dad and I get on great. We have the same interests, and work
good together as a team. 08:00. I'm packing my bag, and rushing about trying to find the books I need for that day. I should really pack my bag the
night before, but I'm always so tired that there doesn't seem to be enough time. The amount of homework that keeps me up some nights is extremely
exhausting. 08:15. The battle between my father and sister is over. If my dad is working, (which he usually is most mornings), then he will give my
sister and I a lift to school, but we always end

At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading.
Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very
basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the
severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my
everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the action unless it relates to something I am very...show

You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the same person that I was. I guess you could say it's
part of growing up. It never really was intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very
different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write
because I believe it is one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally.
To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have
to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing
assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar.
The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class
simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to
write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the

Personal Narrative – Rough Draft
The lake glistened before me as my mom and I pulled into Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp just outside Twin Lakes Michigan. I had been accepted into the
International Youth SymphonyOrchestra program where after spending a week at the camp the entire orchestra would be heading off on a six week
European Tour to share our musical talents and American culture with another part of the world. I knew traveling to a different continent would give
me further insight as to who I was a person, but did not imagine the people I would meet would impact me as much as they did.
His name was Alex Peabody, a 16 year old junior from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Although we weren't best friends, we were still close with one another
throughout the tour. He had messy brown hair that framed his round face and always wore a big flashy smile. One of my favorite moments with him
was while we were waiting to board the bus to go the the airport. While we sat waiting, I was practicing my flute in preparation for our first concert in
France. Many of the other students were practicing, talking, giggling, or sharing newly found favorite songs with their friends. The noise was
deafening and created a carnival of sound that grew louder with each passing minute. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Alex, a cello player, watching
me practice, his eyes bright with fascination.
"Alex, do you know how to play flute?" I called to

The ideal time to ride came rolling around at approximately six o'clock, when a chilly breeze picked up. Unprepared and starting to shiver, my
older sister notified us that she was going to grab her coat from the house. She left my younger sister and I to deal with the horses which was easy,
or so we thought that it was. Assuming that it was going to be an effortless task, I took my attention gradually away from the horses, and
commenced a conversation with my sister. Totally forgetting about what I was supposed to be doing, I did not perceive that Dexter spooked and
pulled back on the board that he was attached to. Turning around and seeing him rear up on his hind feet, shocked me and I froze. My mind went
blank for a second, and when it came back, Dexter was darting so rapidly you would assume a bear was chasing him. I could see the fear in his
eyes. He was terrified of the post he was dragging behind him. Not knowing what to do, I immediately yelled at the top of my lungs for my older
sister. Never in my life has my heart beated so fast. Freaking out, panicking, stressing out, I attempted to grab Dexter's lead rope, but him being a
thoroughbred caused an issue. He was too quick for me to even get near him. I knew I had to something to calm him down, I didn't want him to get

brother Kamden was outside and we didn't know. None of us knew until, my aunt said "Hey where is Kamden?", and she sent her son outside to
see where he was. He came back inside running and I was sitting on the couch with my mom and my brother Kaden and he said "Guys! Kamden is

it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit

Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to go out a lot so she was always home studying or in
her room. She was so restricted in her own home that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only
about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty.
Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel like nothing. She didn't even have protection from
her own mother, because her mom would never say anything about it. She just let it happen.

The fairy tales say that once upon a time a girl met a boy; they fell in love, and lived happily ever after. Reality is not that simple. Long–term
relationships force couples to get to know each other, involve themselves in each others' worlds, fight through the hard times, and eventually develop
deeper connections through distinctive stages of Knapp's relationship model. Although I have dated the same person for over two years, the stages of

feel guilty about even looking in the direction of other guys. At the time, I ignored his jealousy because my strong feelings for him overshadowed
my own needs as an individual. Looking back, I realize our involvement actually intensified, for the better and the worse. John evolved into my best
friend and, wrapping myself in his world, I lost my core group of friends. We had reached interpersonal commitment. All of my time belonged to
John. We went to events and hung out according to his time frame, with little consideration for my time. All John needed to say was "no, I don't want
to do that," and I respected his decision. Looking back, I realize how little John respected me. Our relationship grew in predictability as we learned
each other's schedules, emotions, and family habits. Dates always went the same way, involving dinner with his family followed by a rented movie.
Our interactions never involved social bonding beyond our families. Instead, moments of novelty, like rock

about all the hard work the coaches put us through doing two a days and keeping us late after a hard practice, spending all of that time and hard
