2. Essay Personal Swot
Introduction This is my personal SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Strengths and weaknesses are
both internal to the person or company. Opportunities and threats are both external to the person or company. Strengths I feel blessed to have
some of these qualities in my "corner" so to speak. I don't think I could have accomplished as much as I have if it weren't for some of these
strengths. * Strong math skills * Team player * Strong drive to improve weaknesses * Patient * Highly competitive Weaknesses I have worked hard

* Being a UT student, I am exposed to many employment opportunities * With an accounting degree, my employment options are vast * Free
education * The stock market is down (may be a good time and way to improve the money threat) Threats These are some current threats facing my
life and my career, but they feed my need to become successful in life and my career. * Many intelligent students at UT (competition is high) * Life
shortened do to incurable disease * Lack of money Steps to Turn Threats into Opportunities Before coming to a big school such as UT, I knew
there would be many intelligent students, so I prepared myself by making the best grades possible, usually straight A's. Now that I am at UT, I
have met my peers and most of them are very intelligent, which my competitive nature "kicks in" and makes me try harder to get higher grades than
my peers. Another threat is one toward my lifespan. I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 12, I know that if I don't eat right and exercise, my
life will be significantly shortened. Currently, I consider myself in fair shape, but I am looking for ways to vastly improve. My first step is to find a
quality bike to ride to the gym on the weekends and then to work. Also, I plan to watch what I eat, which includes reducing the amount of sweets,
eliminating "unhealthy foods", and eating less throughout the day.

Robbins and Coulter define the SWOT analysis as, "an analysis of the organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats" (239). In this
paper, I will use a personal approach to the SWOT analysis to help understand the strengths and opportunities that I possess, along with the
weaknesses and threats that I face. By identifying these four factors in my life, I hope to use them to my advantage as my career progresses.

Living with an open mind also helps me be more creative. It lets me look at the world around me with fresh eyes, and it helps me gain confidence in
myself and my own ideas. It is important to recognize my own weaknesses in order to improve upon them and know where I stand with any
competitors. My main weaknesses are my communication skills and falling into the habit of procrastination. Communication, particularly with a large
group of people, is sometimes difficult for me. I find it hard to speak up and be confident, and to network and find my place within the academic
community. Going forward, I am trying to improve my interview and public speaking skills in order to combat this weakness. Another weakness that I
have is that I become distracted easily, while at the same time I am a perfectionist. This leads to a great deal of procrastination and issues with time
management. Although I am dedicated to my education, factors such as commitments to friends and family and occasional lack of motivation keep me
off track and lead to procrastination. Having weaknesses is something that can be harmful when competing with others. However, having weaknesses is
inevitable, so it is important for me to identify and deal with them instead of avoiding them.
According to Robbins and Coulter, "opportunities are positive trends in the external environment, threats are negative trends" (239). Throughout the
past few years, I have faced threats that

Strategy is defined as an implemented plan of action to achieve a desired goal. In order for a business to be successful in today's market, strategic
planning must take place to guide an organāizations sense of direction, priorities, and decision making to reach aspiring objectives.
Strategic planning is important to an organization to define values, creating cohesive visions, chart a direction and set goals for future growth (Burris,
n.d.). To aid in identifying this, organiāzations utilize what's known as the SWOT analysis; which refers to Strengths, Weaknesses, Opāportunities and
Threats. Why use the SWOT analysis you ask? This analysis will help our organiāzation (Target) identify internal and external factors that will not
only shed light on our strengths and weaknesses, but also provide us with favorable circumstances that can benefit our company, as well as discovering
any threats that may hinder us from obtaining our goals. I believe conductāing this SWOT analysis is integral for the Target Corporation; as it will aid

Weaknesses
Firstly, at CyraCom there is hardly a strong organization culture. It seems that the company chooses to focus on the call center side of things rather than
create one.
Many interpreters are misled in thinking of a company that values intelligence and language skills, when it turns out later that they hire bilingual
persons to apply their protocols only. Consequently, interpreters should be content with low salaries; this job does not require a degree. And that is at
the time of interviews. Next, there are distinct departments and lines of authority, work activities are designed around individuals. In this call center,
100% of calls are recorded and monitored and employees are required to follow extensive rules and regulations and to minimize formal contact with
other employees if not functionally necessary. One supervisor sits at higher booth keeping an eye on 10 Interpreters. A manager of each department
(that handles one language) walks around examining closely to ensure there are no deviations. Indeed, this is management in the survival mode and
there is no workplace spirituality.
And that leads the second weakness of CyraCom, High Employee Turnover compared to industry averages. Current HC recruiter, Richard Arana, is a

Strategic management has brought together all the areas I have learned in the business program; some better than others, but all. Intermediate and
advanced accounting seemed to help me with the ratio analysis because I got to analyze the financial statements of a company and use them to
calculate ratios such as: profitability, liquidity, and capital structure ratios. To implement a suitable strategy for our cases, I had to calculate the ratios
to find out how liquid the company was, and if it could pay bills on time. It also showed the company's return on investments and how the purchase of
assets was financed. It was difficult understanding what line item on the financial statement affected each of the ratios. For example, I know gross
profit margin was affected by sales and COGS, but I was not sure what else fit into the equation. I still do not fully understand every individual ratio in
the analysis, but I do understand how to compare a company to the industry. The other classes I have taken in the college of business such as; operations
management and management information systems helped me understand the implementation and control part of the case work we had to do. I

Introduction
A SWOT analysis is an analysis based on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a company. SWOT analysis is the first phase in
gathering information for strategic planning (Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman, & Bamford, 2015). A SWOT analysis plays a significant role in strategic

improve on its opportunities. It gives a detailed understanding on areas that need attention as well as areas that are striving. It also gives companies a
clear view of the advantages and disadvantages they have over their competitors. A SWOT analysis was created forThe Home Depot to get a better
understanding of the company and its strategic planning.
