21. Option 1 Benefit
• Strength
– Keep all analog camera
– Future upgrade to IP
– Centralized Management(*)
• Weakness
– limit resolution to (704x576)
– Old camera life and all factory will stop analog line
– Separate type of storage(DVR/NVR only e-sata)
– Not full centralized management
– Not Centralized record so dual cost of storage and not good
management and data protection
– Can not add and change new software .
– E-SATA is single point of failure storage
23. Option 2 Benefit
• Strength
– Keep all analog camera
– Future upgrade to IP (*)
– Centralized Management and Storage
• Weakness
– limit resolution
– Old camera life and all factory will stop analog line
– Video Server cost relate to new IP camera but IP
camera will better resolution
– If future change to IP camera ,video server will waste
out.
25. Option 3 Benefit
• Strength
– Centralized Management and Storage
– Choice of HD to 4K camera resolution
– Remote view and maintenance
– Data encryption from camera
– Flexible scale both camera and storage
– IP Camera still best choice of CCTV technology and no plan of better
technology emerge .
– Choice of Storage and software system
– Some storage and resource can share with other IP system
– Most IT staff can understand and easy management
– Lower cost for adding 1-2 camera
– Lower TCO
• Weakness
– A little bit higher cost than others solution

Difference of iSCSI, NAS
Network Attached Storage (NAS) uses
File-Level protocols such as NFS or
SMB/CIFS for remote files sharing.
Same as traditional SCSI and FC
interface, iSCSI require Block-Level
access to the hard drives such as
email servers, databases, and high
usage file servers.

43. NAS vs. SAN ?
• Traditionally:
– NAS is used for low-volume access to a large
amount of storage by many users
– SAN is the solution for terabytes (1012) of storage
and multiple, simultaneous access to files, such as
streaming audio/video.
• The lines are becoming blurred between the
two technologies now, and while the SAN-
versus-NAS debate continues, the fact is that
both technologies complement each another.

Difference of iSCSI, NAS
45. FC-SAN vs. iSCSI
• Since the iSCSI appliance attaches to the existing Ethernet network,
NAS and iSCSI are very similar in network architecture
– However, the performance would be significantly different.
• Both iSCSI and SAN use Block I/O to transport data, whereas NAS
uses File I/O.
• SAN offers better performance (c.f. NAS), but is more expensive and
requires a higher skill set to implement. iSCSI and NAS offer better
pricing and skills may already be in place to implement them.
• Both SAN and iSCSI offer the performance benefit of Block I/O.
45
46. 46
46
Why iSCSI?
• Low Total Cost of Ownership
– Deploy SAN infrastructure on the existing Ethernet
infrastructure
– Share the 10Gb infrastructure NIC, switch, cables
• Leverage technology expertise
– The same technology as existing network topology
– No additional training needed
– Easy management and maintenance

48. Video Management Suite
The LG Ipsolute VMS is an IP-Surveillance software that works with LG IP cameras and the LG Video
Server to provide live video monitoring, video recording, video playback, settings, and event
management functions. The software has search functions for recorded events. Remote viewing and
playback are also possible with the use of the Video Management Suite.
