runs several programs to save endangered historic
places. Through its National Treasures program, the
institution identifies historic and irreplaceable sites
throughout the country.
3. Historic Places
• It also compiles and updates a list of the 11 most
endangered places and puts significant effort into
saving these at-risk properties. In addition, the
National Trust has an advocacy center where
members can learn about how to help save historic
sites by advocating for preservation laws.
Currently, the National Trust has several main
preservation priorities. These include promoting
sustainable communities, protecting historic sites
on public lands and promoting diversity among
protected sites. The organization also focuses on
revitalizing its own portfolio of historic buildings.
