Paul joined the Company in July 2007 as a Customer Services and Administration Assistant.
Through internal promotion and talent recognition, Paul progressed from Customer Services and
Administration Assistant to IT Solutions Administrator on October 1st
2008.
Paul was primarily responsible for dealing with our customers on the phone and as his career
progressed, his IT skills shone through. With business development Paul was offered a position
within the IT department where his great organisational and technical skills and thorough
knowledge of the Company were needed.
Throughout his over three year career at Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd Paul achieved and
experienced the following: (list is not exhaustive)
♦ Ensure first line support and assistance on all aspects of IT.
♦ Provide reliable and effective solutions to meet business requirements.
♦ Provide IT advice and assistance to staff ensuring that the firm’s computer
systems are maintained and continue to operate efficiently.
♦ Document all IT procedures, in line with Company set practice, test and
implement software applications as required for the various departments within
the firm.

♦ Log support calls ensuring accurate prioritisation and progress of incidents are
tracked to ensure timely resolution.
♦ Make sure that any faults with the computer system are rectified as speedily as
possible liaising with IT Manager and outside agencies as necessary.
♦ Maintain existing hardware and liaise with vendors with regards to repairs and
equipment installation as necessary.
♦ Assist with the training of staff in the operation and maintenance of new
computer equipment.
♦ Keep the Intranet updated.
♦ Identify any training needs outside of the department and liaise with the IT
Manager, Managers and Team Supervisors to arrange appropriate training to
meet those needs and check that the training has been effective.
♦ Assist the IT Manager with the implementation and testing of the firm’s disaster
recovery procedures.
♦ Assist the IT Manager with the testing and evaluation of new computer
equipment and computer programmes.
♦ Test, update and deploy lender software, producing user documentation where
required and logging changes for auditing and disaster recovery purposes.
♦ Ensure that the telephony equipment is working and information is up-to-date,
including staff moves, hunt groups and voice recording equipment.
♦ Design, prepare and produce reports as and when requested for Supervisors and
Managers.
Throughout his time at Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd Paul has been an exemplary and
dedicated employee and we are therefore sorry to see he has taken the decision to leave.
Without a doubt, it will be a great loss for Ocean Finance & Mortgages Ltd and whoever has the
pleasure of employing Paul will find him a valuable asset to the team.
