4. The Importance of Academic Writing to you as a
Future Teacher.
• Academic disciplines use academic writing as a tool for knowledge production, codification, transmission,
evaluation, renovation, teaching, and learning. Writing in an academic style is crucial for academic
performance and is required for discipline learning. As you take material and present it to your audience in
a way that makes sense to them, academic writing helps you develop your critical thinking skills. It is the
writer's responsibility to evaluate the material gathered. When compared to other types of writing,
academic writing places a greater emphasis on style and technique. Academic writing is a communication
tool used to share learned information in a particular subject of study. Students who write for academic
purposes will learn how to analyse, communicate, think critically, and concentrate on method and style.
Writing specifically aids kids in acquiring higher-order thinking abilities that need the mental processes of
analysis, assessment, and creativity. Students should start their writing by developing a strong point and
then properly stating it. Learning academic writing helps kids become more intelligent, teaches them how
to communicate, and expands their capacity for thought and capacity for empathy. Every student needs to
be a strong thinker because writing is thinking.
