EXPERIENCE
Hygiene & Pest Control Manager, Veetee Rice Ltd Apr 2008 – present
Veetee Rice is the largest privately owned rice manufacturer in the UK and the second fastest-growing grocery company which
imports, cleans, mills and packages dry rice for several major UK retailers with own brand and branded lines. It also serves
independent ethnic trade, wholesalers, catering, manufacturing and export market.
• Day to day management of Hygiene Operatives and scheduling to meet a 24/7 operation
• Managing Pest Control on siteto lowest levels of activity in the site’s history
• Hygiene budget control – managed and redeuced budgety year on year while maintaining retailer led standards.
• Carrying out monthly/daily GMP audits to drive a change culture.
• Waste management for the site working towards zero to landfill
• Deputise for the Technical Manager
• Customer/Accreditation Audits.
• Carrying out traceability studies
• Root cause analysis and corrective action management for Retail and B2B complaints and queries

• I also deputise and work closely with our Health & Safety Officer.

Hygiene Officer
• A highly effective Hygiene Officer with a leading cereal manufacturer, developing and implementing hygiene
procedures and strategies within the company.
• Responsible for recruitment, induction, training and discipline of six full time staff. Areas of responsibility: hygiene,
workwear, pest control, waste management and vending.
• I am conversant in COSHH, HACCP, Health and Safety and pest control, particularly in the milling industry.
• Over the five years, I held the post; I brought in a 48% reduction in departmental overhead operating costs.
• I designed and implemented a deep cleaning schedule based on a risk assessment formula and started working on
writing a bespoke hygiene manual for the site.
• I also brought in various recycling projects, which significantly reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill, and thus
reduced costs.
• I received training in lean techniques and headed up a successful project, which lead to reduction to wastage costs to
the business of £20,000.00 p.a.
