stereotypes, some ring true, but some can
seem discouraging to prospective students:

• Lazy
• Day-time TV Addicts
• Party Animals
3. Sectors of Student Life
• Student Life can be divided into 4 different
sectors:
• Academic
• Social
• Financial
• Living Arrangements
4. Academic Life
• 8-15 Hours of study a week
• More independent than sixth form or college

boat, enjoy it!

the amount of their fees and
some extra for maintenance.
• Provided by Student Loans
Company.
• Paid in three instalments every
three months of academic year.
• Only payable once earning and
only a small sum each month.
• Becoming increasingly rare that
you would pay your whole debt
off.
Extra Help
• Part time work.
• Any savings you may have.
• Flexible work (WorkBank).
• Good budgeting skills.
• Bank of Mum and Dad
8. Conclusions
• All aspects of student life are important, they all affect each other and
intertwine, important to strike a balance between them all.
• Prioritise which aspects mean the most to you at the right times, don’t
sacrifice lectures for nights out but don’t sacrifice Saturday nights out
without needing to.
• Student Life is exact that, the life of a student, its different for everyone
and can be whatever you want it to be, so make sure you make the most
of it.
• Ask most people who have been to University, it was always the best time
of their life, make your time at LJMU the best time of your life.
