–There are numerous reasons I would love to be an orientation leader at UTC. Orientation leaders represent their school and help instill school pride
in each new class of students. I want to be a part of this and welcome a diverse group of students to the community we have on UTC's campus. I
would also really enjoy getting to know and work with students from all different groups and backgrounds on campus.
2. Why do you believe orientation is important for new students?
–Orientation is the perfect time for new students to get acquainted with their new school, other students, and potential mentors. It is a time for students
to get excited about their next four years and decide what kind of experience they want to have at UTC. It is also extremely informative which is
important because it helps new students to feel more prepared and confident.

I came from over four hours away to be a part of this campus that boasts such a beautiful setting and friendly community. However, our school spirit

I also have a hard time saying no if someone is willing to take control and lead the group. Another weakness of mine is communication. I am always
very good at paying attention in class and, therefore, if I hear the teacher give requirements for a project, I just assume that everyone else is paying
equal attention. I need to make a more conscience effort to make sure that everyone is communicating with one another and is aware of what needs
to be accomplished. This ensures the team will be building a healthy relationship and working together. Lastly, I have to remember that everyone is

To organise any events or fulfil the duties I would happily spend some of my break. I will take the time out of my days to catch up in my studies
and organise any events instead of watching TV. Even though I will try to fit everything in and not just stay at home all day watching TV I would

I had to conduct to a piece of my choosing, call out simple commands, and sing and conduct "The Star Spangled
Banner." It was a nerve racking experience, but I did well, and I made it. I was ecstatic. I was the only junior that made it, along with two seniors. I
went to Drum Major Academy that summer, which deserves two full pages of description. My comrades and I picked out our own uniform. I bought
a whistle, gloves, and a handful of other things. I was ready to lead a group of two hundred of my peers, or so I thought.
Preband is what we call the two weeks before school starts when the band practices four hours every morning in preparation for the season. In the
week prior to preband, I went to church camp in Panama City, Florida, and unfortunately, I broke my toe. I will not describe how I accomplished
that task as it is a source of much shame for me. I was very disappointed because my golden vision of what preband was going to be was tarnished,
but I soldiered on, and made it limping through. I learned many things during those two weeks about perseverance. I didn't let my disability get in the
way, and instead of feeling sorry for myself, I just did what I could to the best of my ability, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I also loved learning about Kappa Delta with my new sisters. Something I would change was how we meet our new sisters. I felt that I did not get
to meet my new members that well. I wish we did more ice breaker and getting to know you events, that were not so deep. I think the best way to
meet others is through my team building exercise, that can than build into deep conversations. List a few things you think would be helpful for the
new members during this period. Plan out homework time because this can be a very busy and stressful time School comes first, so even though this
is a fun time, make sure you know why you are at MSU Get to know your sisters–don't be shy, everyone is nervous Enjoy this process, because this is
one of the most fun times to be a Kappa

2. Why are you interested in being a Peer Leader/Welcome Weekend Leader and why do you think you are qualified for the position?
I'm most interested in becoming a peer leader mainly because of my integration at Lynn. When I came to Lynn I came in for soccer and I didn't really
branch out much, but through the first forty and resident hall activities I really branched out to meet new friends. I want to be able to give incoming
freshman this same experience and allow them to enjoy their college experience with supportive friends by their side. I truly believe I'm qualified for
this position in many ways. I have a fun, bubbly, and energetic personality. I redshirted for two sports this year and I never let it bring me down, I

I think also as i work with students I'll be able to give insight into situations I'm dealing with to my other peer leaders allowing us overall to be a
stronger and more knowledgable group. No one of us is perfect so by grouping together and sharing our strengths were sure to impact each others lives.
7. How would you make a positive impact on the New Student Transitional experience?
I think I'd bring a positive impact simply by bringing the best version of myself. I really want to be able to give freshman a positive experience and
a positive transition into Lynn. I think just by bringing my honest self and all my past experiences will be a good building block for students to trust
me and want to confide in me. I think also with my knowledge from student ambassadors I know a lot about Lynn and I know a lot of the ins and outs
of Lynn.
