After School Programs Essay examples
After School Programs
Many parents today are faced with the issue of after school programs. But are these programs what we really think of them? Are they helping or
hurting our children? A lot of parents want their child to be involved in school and/or extraā€“curricular activities, but don't want them to be
overwhelmed; whereas other parents don't seem bothered by the effects. This paper included information about after school activities and the effects
they play in today's modern society with children. So, what do these activities do for the children? Do after school activities for children help to enrich
their social and physical skills for their life long interests?
A school program is defined as "community driven, expanded...show more content...
In high school sports are divided up by junior varsity and varsity squads. This adds a little more competition to each team since they will all be
competing against their peers. The language clubs are good for bilingual students, as well as students who are interested in being prospective in
different languages and cultures. The religious clubs are very helpful to students who like to be involved with their churches or synagogues or
temples. Sometimes when children are growing up it becomes harder for them to have a chance to talk with fellow peers about their religion, so
these clubs and programs give students a chance to talk with their fellow classmates and peers about their views and beliefs or different subjects and
topics. One of the most popular religious programs is a youth group where the students meet about once a meek just to talk and they also get involved
with many programs and events in the local community. The after school activities let children feel comfortable around their fellow peers and
classmates and introduce students to other students with their same interests. More programs that tend to be specifically based for in the school are
such programs as Key Club, National Honors Society, and the Student Government Association. Project Learn was developed by the Boys and Girls
Club of America in 1999, and was designed for the purpose of: homework help and tutoring, high yielding learning and leisure activities, parent

Traditional Schools Vs. Year-Round Schools
Would you rather be home playing video games or going on vacations during the summer or in school? Year round schools are TERRIBLE. They
spend way too much money, and they have to run their AC all summer long. They have to pay a lot of money to keep bus drivers and other staff
members.
Year round schools are 230 days and traditional schools are 180 days. Year round schools have 9 weeks ofschool and then a 2ā€“3 week break.
Traditional schools have breaks near the holidays and a 2ā€“3 month break in the summer. Traditional schools don't have to run there A/C all summer
long. Year round schools do because they have to go through the summer.
My first reason that I am against year round schools is that they spend way too much money. They have to

School Improvement Essay
School improvement is transformation. It is one of the most important actions of a school. It is a process that schools must use with fidelity to ensure
that at all students are given the opportunity to perform and achieve at exemplary levels. School improvement is vital to schools and it is a process
that cannot be done in isolation. It requires team work, collaboration, and constant analysis of data and setting of goals. School improvement goals
focus on how to meet the needs of students. Addressing the educational needs, funding, and achievement gaps between subgroups is collaborative
effort involves everyone that has a vested interest in the schools. These basic measures set the foundation for improvement. And so, if it is the...show

This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As
we review and synthesize data of a district for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the needs of a
school. First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school districts measure up with state and federal accountability.
During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer
to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating
improvement strategies. So, after careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that will improve
student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the
baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan.
Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide continuous improvement of a plan. There are four
types of data that will be beneficial to any team during the planning phase of the school improvement process.
Demographics data, achievement data, perception

Middle School Application Essay Sample
Since submitting my original application to Berkeley back in November, I organized and took a leading role in a project called the Brown Middle
School Health Sciences Pilot Program, a project which has been considerably meaningful to me and my growth as an individual, learner, and leader.
As mentioned previously in my original application, I was perplexed by the seemingly never ending complexity of human anatomy, and I developed a
love for medicine at an early age. Unfortunately, no classes or programs were offered by my middle school that explored these topics. Although my
desire to seek the health sciences was fulfilled in high school, an opportunity to explore medicine at an even earlier age would have garnered even
further success and would help me progress through my secondary education at a more focused rate.
Now, as a senior in high school, I was given the opportunity to create a project to help my community in some way related to health sciences. I
immediately formed a small team to organize a program to benefit my community educationally by giving middle schoolers the chance to explore
medical careers and human anatomy, something I didn't have the chance to do myself at that age....show more content...
Our vision for these lessons was to give the middle schoolers a candid perspective on the medical field, letting them know not just the benefits of
becoming a doctor, but also the trials and tribulations they must undego. Furthermore, we wanted them to explore anatomy and medical procedures
handsā€“on, rather than through books or videos. They were to learn how to suture on meshes that accurately simulated real skin, perform CPR on
mannequins that gave real time feedback, measure and chart vitals of their partners, and cut into and explore organ specimens that reflected the
structure of their human

At my fifth birthday party my mother had a Mad Scientist come to entertain the kids at my party. The mad scientist performed many fun experiments
with dry ice, and my interest in science was born that day. As a five year old, I begged my mother to enroll me in a summer science class, since
science fascinated me. Even though I was actually the only female in that summer class of 25 students it did not deter me from enrolling in science
classes every summer since then.
Throughout my childhood, my interest in science also intertwined with my interest in the arts. In middle school, I volunteered at the after school art
program daily, helping other kids with art assignments. At my eighth grade graduation, I received both the art awards my middle school offered, for
dedication to after school art programs. Did I mention that I was also a competitive dancer for about seven years, proficient in ballet, jazz, tap and
Indian classical dance. This is when I began to...show more content...
My mother always told the puzzling story of how the cardiac catheterization performed on him before he passed away did not reveal any blockages or
heart problems, and yet he passed away once he was put on the heart lung machine as a precaution after the procedure. During the many meetings my
mother had with the hospital officials and doctors to figure out his cause of death, the probable cause of death was attributed to the drug "Rezulin", the
diabetes medication he was prescribed. That incident, the unexpected shock, the trauma, and the aftermath of figuring out the cause of his death,
developed my interest in medicine and inspired me to study medical sciences. Even though both my parents are engineers, once they became aware of
my interest in the medical sciences, they encouraged me to follow my developing

Running head: AVIATION FLIGHT SCHOOL
AVIATION FLIGHT SCHOOL
Mark G. Losee
Utah Valley State College
Abstract
The research focused on the ways in which flight schools can provide a specialized training format that satisfies goals for both professional and
recreational pilots. These are unique ways in which, flight schools can achieve flight instruction for students by providing a strong training format that
meets the individuals needs. Offering practical and theoretical skills to the students, and ensuring professional instructors. Also the use of modern
facilities and equipment for teaching students; with a strong emphasis for FAA standards during all phases of instruction. These are some ideas flight
schools should adopt in...show more content...
Flight schools tend to use less commercialized airports for training flights this gives students training without the crowded airspace. (Flight Training,
2004)
Strong Training Format
In order for students to be fully prepared to take off on flights they are subjected to a specialized and strong training format that is followed by the
school. Aviation flight schools when training students should train them using modern equipment, and facilities. This will give students the
opportunity to learn what is currently used in the field of aviation. When the training is based on new and modern technology the students are in a
better position since they can fit in the field. (Flight Training, 2004)
Most of the Aviation schools have developed a structured curriculum, which is used to demonstrate various airplane systems which include a complete
set of working flight instructions to enhance learning opportunities. They use multimedia services and the Internet to gain more information on the
new developments in the field. A proven training system ensures that students are fully trained before they are given certificates to practice flight as a
career or for recreational purposes. (Flight Training, 2004)
There are many curriculums for a flight school to adopt, in fact some flight schools may have more than one to cater to the needs of their students;
such as structured accelerated programs, or a self paced pay as you go open schedule program.

Summer Program Application Essay
The reason as to why I am applying for this summer program is because of the opportunity that it provides. Programs such as these gives the unique
opportunity to explore multiple different career paths. But, not only does it provide a learning opportunity, it also allows a cultural one. Being able
to travel and live in a foreign country at such a young age is one of the most memorable and amazing things that you can do. I believe that if accepted
into this program, that I will do my very best to prove myself dedicated as a student because I want to spend my life learning and preparing myself for
the real world as a careered woman. I have not yet solidified what I would like to be in the future, but as of this moment, I hope to possibly become

I have always loved looking and participating in art classes, although I am not the best artist, and I enjoy learning about the history behind different
art techniques. But I think that international relations would be something that is absolutely amazing to learn about because through this I could
learn about the connections and effects that occur between so many different nations, and learn about how they interact with one another. I feel like
I could provide an interesting perspective to this program, for the main reason of having been apart of programs similar to this one during previous
summers. I work well with others, and I always try to keep an open mind as to avoid biases and to be more empathetic and understanding towards
others. I am very adaptive to my surroundings even if that means changing topics within a classroom discussion. Something else about me is that I am
what is known as an ambivert. This means that I sit in the scale between being and introvert and an extrovert. Although iI do tend to sway more
towards the introverted side, but only for the reason that I can get lost in my own thoughts or go for hours without taking a break from a book that I am

My Reflection On The Beginning Of School Essay
The beginning of school is an exciting moment where every student is given the chance to put their best foot forward. To shine or not to shine is
up to ever student. Though to an African American we know that we cannot just put one foot forward, we must go above and beyond the regular
scholar expectations. So, when I walked into my classroom, I sought to overcome the color boundary circumstance and show everyone I was just
as smart as them. I know it had been a while since I had been in school so did not know what was to come would I be accepted or shunned. Boy
was I in for a treat. Due to the fact that it had been years since I was in class, years since segregation I believed that society would teach equality of
everyone. Yet, on the first day of class I realized that the old racist illusions still exist. I never know that in one day my whole outlook on life
would be destroyed. But, when I walked my sociology class my life would change in so many ways. Let's begin with a little about my past. My
first secondary education was when I had attended a few psychology classes; these classes teach you to evaluate every situation you come across.
Therefore, the first thing I did was to analyze my temporary environment. I checked for entrance and exits. Seeing how the class was narrow and my
phone could ring any moment if my child 's school called I would have to answer that call, I choose to locate a seat closes to the door. Additionally, I
realized that unlike the other students

Life after high school Essay
Life After High School
I've just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to
make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability because there is no
turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college. The decision is totally up to me. There are many positives and negatives of
attending college. Go over them, and then decide. I know myself better then anyone else, and I won't let anyone else tell me what to do. I will make
sure if I am going to attend college that I have something in mind that I will want to do, to succeed in. Choosing a major can be a...show more content...
I knew I wanted to do this because I was very interested in sports my whole life. It wasn't an easy decision in choosing a school, but I think I made
the best choice based on my major right now. In a short essay "College? What's in It for me?" by Steven M. Richardson, the author makes some very
good points about college. Richardson states that there are a lot of reasons to not attend college, but furthermore states that attending college is your
best bet at succeeding in life. Richardson states "The biggest reason for not going, probably, is that college costs money" (169). On the other hand, he
states, "The decision to attend college is an investment in your futureā€“a risk, certainly, but one with a big payoff if it's the right decision for you" (171).
These are the things I had to think about along with millions of high schoolā€“students before making my decision on what I wanted to do with my life.
Choosing a college is only the first part of the decision making process. What I want to do for the rest of your life is the question that the majority of
high school students will ponder. As Richardson states, choosing a college as well as choosing a major is definitely an investment. The way you
handle that investment is up to you. If you handle it correctly your investment will pay off immensely in the end (171). This is why I chose Athletic
Training as my major.

Diversity in the Classroom Essay examples
I believe it is important to first analyze the word diversity when examining the need for diversity within a classroom. According to Webster's New
Pocket Dictionary, diversity means variety, a number of different kinds. I often discuss and read about diversity in terms of cultural backgrounds; the
unification of histories and stories from people from all over the world. Although, I believe that in a higherā€“educational setting, diversity can also be
discussed as the acceptance of the various minds within a classroom. I believe that it is important to recognize the thoughts and experiences of others in
a learning environment. Collectively, students learn from teachers, teachers learn from students, and students learn from their peers. By...show more

In higher education, this relationship should not exist. In a school like Columbia, where the faculty is still active within their field of study, students
should be seen as equal participants within that field. A teacher may have more familiarity, but a student's experience should not be compromised
within the learning environment. That is why diversity is important within the classroom. An acknowledgement of diversity allows for students and
teachers to feel free to question and observe the learning at hand. In a media arts/liberal education, this type of learning should be foundational in order
to achieve supposed goals promised to the student when he or she applied. In a recent class I took at Columbia, I found that diversity was forgotten. The
class consisted of students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, each with a story different from my own. The class often had conversations
about race, ethnicity and racism throughout the world. Each discussion was played out by the students, while the teacher acted as the mediator. After
each debate, the teacher would finalize the argument. Often with an opinionated statement, that I believe could be further questioned. Although, there
was never chance to examine the response and students were encouraged to accept the answer as correct. I believe in this situation, diversity was
overlooked. The classroom was physically diverse, in race,

Sample Of Admission Essay For High School
My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in
my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life
would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club advocating antiā€“drug, alcohol, and bullying to
younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they
have shaped me to be the young adult I am today.
Before I even entered high school, I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on
and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered highschool, an injury kept me
from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as being in multiple community theater productions. Being

Essay Question 2: In reviewing the last five years, describe a situation in which you felt particularly effective as a member of team. (Limit 500 words)
Picture an environment in which a 14 to 16 work day was the norm rather than the exception and where working through the night was as common as
weekly status meetings. These were the realities of a Deloitte Consulting engagement I had worked on at Deutsche Bank. My first roll was to be part
of the testing team. Since the system was to "go live" in 3 months the pressure was on to ensure that all the bugs in the system would be found and
fixed. This put considerable stress on the team. The team didn't have enough time to give me an overview of the project. They basically gave me the

I put in extra effort to learn the system, even on my own personal time. Within 2 weeks I was up to speed and able to assist my team in testing.
The testing team would work long hours due to the tight deadlines, and it was common for management to ask us to stay longer with little notice. I did
not, however, let this affect my attitude towards the team. I understood that since this kind of system had never been built before, project time
estimations would be inevitably off. I also helped the team when new team members joined. I knew how hard it was for me to learn the system by
myself, and I was good at communicating technical material in a manner that non technical people understood, so I took the initiate to get them up to
speed. This was necessary since other team members were busy and did not have the time to sit down with new team members.
As the project progressed I was put on the operations team. The operations team was responsible for monitoring the system when trades would be
sent. The team had to be able to understand how the whole system works. To accomplish this I had to put in a great effort to learn the whole system.
Moreover, the system needed 24 hour support. The operations team was required to work in shifts to accomplish this task. The shifts occurred in 12
hour time frames but usually lasted up to 16 hours. The start times of the shifts would change due to changing business needs, and every week

Essay on Back to School
Back to School
Coming back to school was not something I was planning to do. It would pop into my head now and then, but I never really intended to follow
through with it. However, now that I am back in school, it has changed my goals in my life, not only for me but also for my children. I want to be a
positive role model. I would like to be someone they could look up to and be proud of. As for me, my role model was my grandfather, I always looked
up to him and he has never let me down.

I did not plan on furthering my education after graduating from Monument Valley High School in 1993. Therefore, I went on to discover the outside
world on my own. Some of my relatives would try to persuade me to go to college. I did have cousins that went to college after graduation but
eventually dropped out. I use to ask myself, what is the point of going to college when I do not have the motivation to go to school? Therefore, I
left home, away from the reservation. I went to the Grand Canyon and started working there in the hotel and restaurant industry. I truly enjoyed
working in the hotels and restaurants; it was a great experience for me. Only to find out that it is leading me towards my path to my college career.
I worked at the Grand Canyon for six years and finally decided to move to Flagstaff. I started working at Embassy Suites, where many of my
colleagues were NAU students. They would talk about school all the time, and after a while, they actually made me start thinking about going back to
school. I also have three of my close cousins attending the Northern Arizona University as well. So, I finally decided to go back to school at the last

Examples Of School Demographics
The School Demographic: I did my observation in P.S./M.S. 188 The Island School. The address of the school is 442 East Houston Street
Manhattan, NY 10002. I worked with a teacher name Mrs. Parys. I was observing room 414. This is 6th grade class. PS/MS 188 is located on

My Educational Background Of School
My educational background began with me attending public school for about three years, then I went to catholic school. Middle school was the
best part of my education. In middle school I was given the opportunity to express myself creatively through dance, drama, writing, and with my
voice. I attended a school of arts for one year; I noticed some changes that I was not familiar with when I was at student at catholic school. While in
catholic school we studied a curriculum that included science, math, language, and social studies, but religion was dominant over all the material. At
the school of the arts, I studied the same materials but the religion was absent, instead we were offered creative classes such as dance, drama, band,
and vocal chorus. In addition to the curriculum there were the projects, for example, the science fair and social studies fair projects. I have always
liked to be unique and creative and I would use these projects to show that. I was even fortunate enough to be accepted to attend Martin Luther King
Magnet High School, neither myself nor my parents had considered this as an opportunity. As a student at MLK, I learned I would have to push
myself and give extra effort in order to make the grade. The educators believed in high quality learning objectives, as students we were required to
analyze information and compare and contrast, instead of completing simple assignments where we would recall information. I studied seven or eight
subjects per day and I

After School Programs Essay Examples

  • 1. After School Programs Essay examples After School Programs Many parents today are faced with the issue of after school programs. But are these programs what we really think of them? Are they helping or hurting our children? A lot of parents want their child to be involved in school and/or extraā€“curricular activities, but don't want them to be overwhelmed; whereas other parents don't seem bothered by the effects. This paper included information about after school activities and the effects they play in today's modern society with children. So, what do these activities do for the children? Do after school activities for children help to enrich their social and physical skills for their life long interests? A school program is defined as "community driven, expanded...show more content... In high school sports are divided up by junior varsity and varsity squads. This adds a little more competition to each team since they will all be competing against their peers. The language clubs are good for bilingual students, as well as students who are interested in being prospective in different languages and cultures. The religious clubs are very helpful to students who like to be involved with their churches or synagogues or temples. Sometimes when children are growing up it becomes harder for them to have a chance to talk with fellow peers about their religion, so these clubs and programs give students a chance to talk with their fellow classmates and peers about their views and beliefs or different subjects and topics. One of the most popular religious programs is a youth group where the students meet about once a meek just to talk and they also get involved with many programs and events in the local community. The after school activities let children feel comfortable around their fellow peers and classmates and introduce students to other students with their same interests. More programs that tend to be specifically based for in the school are such programs as Key Club, National Honors Society, and the Student Government Association. Project Learn was developed by the Boys and Girls Club of America in 1999, and was designed for the purpose of: homework help and tutoring, high yielding learning and leisure activities, parent involvement, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Traditional Schools Vs. Year-Round Schools Would you rather be home playing video games or going on vacations during the summer or in school? Year round schools are TERRIBLE. They spend way too much money, and they have to run their AC all summer long. They have to pay a lot of money to keep bus drivers and other staff members. Year round schools are 230 days and traditional schools are 180 days. Year round schools have 9 weeks ofschool and then a 2ā€“3 week break. Traditional schools have breaks near the holidays and a 2ā€“3 month break in the summer. Traditional schools don't have to run there A/C all summer long. Year round schools do because they have to go through the summer. My first reason that I am against year round schools is that they spend way too much money. • 3. School Improvement Essay School improvement is transformation. It is one of the most important actions of a school. It is a process that schools must use with fidelity to ensure that at all students are given the opportunity to perform and achieve at exemplary levels. School improvement is vital to schools and it is a process that cannot be done in isolation. It requires team work, collaboration, and constant analysis of data and setting of goals. School improvement goals focus on how to meet the needs of students. Addressing the educational needs, funding, and achievement gaps between subgroups is collaborative effort involves everyone that has a vested interest in the schools. These basic measures set the foundation for improvement. And so, if it is the...show more content... This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As we review and synthesize data of a district for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the needs of a school. First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school districts measure up with state and federal accountability. During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating improvement strategies. So, after careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that will improve student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan. Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide continuous improvement of a plan. There are four types of data that will be beneficial to any team during the planning phase of the school improvement process. Demographics data, achievement data, perception Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Middle School Application Essay Sample Since submitting my original application to Berkeley back in November, I organized and took a leading role in a project called the Brown Middle School Health Sciences Pilot Program, a project which has been considerably meaningful to me and my growth as an individual, learner, and leader. As mentioned previously in my original application, I was perplexed by the seemingly never ending complexity of human anatomy, and I developed a love for medicine at an early age. Unfortunately, no classes or programs were offered by my middle school that explored these topics. Although my desire to seek the health sciences was fulfilled in high school, an opportunity to explore medicine at an even earlier age would have garnered even further success and would help me progress through my secondary education at a more focused rate. Now, as a senior in high school, I was given the opportunity to create a project to help my community in some way related to health sciences. I immediately formed a small team to organize a program to benefit my community educationally by giving middle schoolers the chance to explore medical careers and human anatomy, something I didn't have the chance to do myself at that age....show more content... Our vision for these lessons was to give the middle schoolers a candid perspective on the medical field, letting them know not just the benefits of becoming a doctor, but also the trials and tribulations they must undego. Furthermore, we wanted them to explore anatomy and medical procedures handsā€“on, rather than through books or videos. They were to learn how to suture on meshes that accurately simulated real skin, perform CPR on mannequins that gave real time feedback, measure and chart vitals of their partners, and cut into and explore organ specimens that reflected the structure of their human Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. High School Admission Essay Sample At my fifth birthday party my mother had a Mad Scientist come to entertain the kids at my party. The mad scientist performed many fun experiments with dry ice, and my interest in science was born that day. As a five year old, I begged my mother to enroll me in a summer science class, since science fascinated me. Even though I was actually the only female in that summer class of 25 students it did not deter me from enrolling in science classes every summer since then. Throughout my childhood, my interest in science also intertwined with my interest in the arts. In middle school, I volunteered at the after school art program daily, helping other kids with art assignments. At my eighth grade graduation, I received both the art awards my middle school offered, for dedication to after school art programs. Did I mention that I was also a competitive dancer for about seven years, proficient in ballet, jazz, tap and Indian classical dance. This is when I began to...show more content... My mother always told the puzzling story of how the cardiac catheterization performed on him before he passed away did not reveal any blockages or heart problems, and yet he passed away once he was put on the heart lung machine as a precaution after the procedure. During the many meetings my mother had with the hospital officials and doctors to figure out his cause of death, the probable cause of death was attributed to the drug "Rezulin", the diabetes medication he was prescribed. That incident, the unexpected shock, the trauma, and the aftermath of figuring out the cause of his death, developed my interest in medicine and inspired me to study medical sciences. Even though both my parents are engineers, once they became aware of my interest in the medical sciences, they encouraged me to follow my developing Get more content on HelpWriting.net

These are unique ways in which, flight schools can achieve flight instruction for students by providing a strong training format that meets the individuals needs. Flight schools tend to use less commercialized airports for training flights this gives students training without the crowded airspace. (Flight Training, 2004) Strong Training Format In order for students to be fully prepared to take off on flights they are subjected to a specialized and strong training format that is followed by the school. Aviation flight schools when training students should train them using modern equipment, and facilities. This will give students the opportunity to learn what is currently used in the field of aviation. When the training is based on new and modern technology the students are in a better position since they can fit in the field. (Flight Training, 2004) Most of the Aviation schools have developed a structured curriculum, which is used to demonstrate various airplane systems which include a complete set of working flight instructions to enhance learning opportunities. They use multimedia services and the Internet to gain more information on the new developments in the field. A proven training system ensures that students are fully trained before they are given certificates to practice flight as a career or for recreational purposes. (Flight Training, 2004) There are many curriculums for a flight school to adopt, in fact some flight schools may have more than one to cater to the needs of their students;

  • 8. Summer Program Application Essay The reason as to why I am applying for this summer program is because of the opportunity that it provides. Programs such as these gives the unique opportunity to explore multiple different career paths. But, not only does it provide a learning opportunity, it also allows a cultural one. Being able to travel and live in a foreign country at such a young age is one of the most memorable and amazing things that you can do. I believe that if accepted into this program, that I will do my very best to prove myself dedicated as a student because I want to spend my life learning and preparing myself for the real world as a careered woman. I have not yet solidified what I would like to be in the future, but as of this moment, I hope to possibly become ...show more content... I have always loved looking and participating in art classes, although I am not the best artist, and I enjoy learning about the history behind different art techniques. But I think that international relations would be something that is absolutely amazing to learn about because through this I could learn about the connections and effects that occur between so many different nations, and learn about how they interact with one another. I feel like I could provide an interesting perspective to this program, for the main reason of having been apart of programs similar to this one during previous summers. I work well with others, and I always try to keep an open mind as to avoid biases and to be more empathetic and understanding towards others. I am very adaptive to my surroundings even if that means changing topics within a classroom discussion. Something else about me is that I am what is known as an ambivert. This means that I sit in the scale between being and introvert and an extrovert. Although iI do tend to sway more towards the introverted side, but only for the reason that I can get lost in my own thoughts or go for hours without taking a break from a book that I am Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Reflection On The Beginning Of School Essay The beginning of school is an exciting moment where every student is given the chance to put their best foot forward. To shine or not to shine is up to ever student. Though to an African American we know that we cannot just put one foot forward, we must go above and beyond the regular scholar expectations. So, when I walked into my classroom, I sought to overcome the color boundary circumstance and show everyone I was just as smart as them. I know it had been a while since I had been in school so did not know what was to come would I be accepted or shunned. Boy was I in for a treat. Due to the fact that it had been years since I was in class, years since segregation I believed that society would teach equality of everyone. Yet, on the first day of class I realized that the old racist illusions still exist. I never know that in one day my whole outlook on life would be destroyed. But, when I walked my sociology class my life would change in so many ways. Let's begin with a little about my past. My first secondary education was when I had attended a few psychology classes; these classes teach you to evaluate every situation you come across. Therefore, the first thing I did was to analyze my temporary environment. I checked for entrance and exits. Seeing how the class was narrow and my phone could ring any moment if my child 's school called I would have to answer that call, I choose to locate a seat closes to the door. Additionally, I realized that unlike the other students Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Life after high school Essay Life After High School I've just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college. The decision is totally up to me. There are many positives and negatives of attending college. Go over them, and then decide. I know myself better then anyone else, and I won't let anyone else tell me what to do. I will make sure if I am going to attend college that I have something in mind that I will want to do, to succeed in. Choosing a major can be a...show more content... I knew I wanted to do this because I was very interested in sports my whole life. It wasn't an easy decision in choosing a school, but I think I made the best choice based on my major right now. In a short essay "College? What's in It for me?" by Steven M. Richardson, the author makes some very good points about college. Richardson states that there are a lot of reasons to not attend college, but furthermore states that attending college is your best bet at succeeding in life. Richardson states "The biggest reason for not going, probably, is that college costs money" (169). On the other hand, he states, "The decision to attend college is an investment in your futureā€“a risk, certainly, but one with a big payoff if it's the right decision for you" (171). These are the things I had to think about along with millions of high schoolā€“students before making my decision on what I wanted to do with my life. Choosing a college is only the first part of the decision making process. What I want to do for the rest of your life is the question that the majority of high school students will ponder. As Richardson states, choosing a college as well as choosing a major is definitely an investment. The way you handle that investment is up to you. If you handle it correctly your investment will pay off immensely in the end (171). This is why I chose Athletic Training as my major. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Diversity in the Classroom Essay examples I believe it is important to first analyze the word diversity when examining the need for diversity within a classroom. According to Webster's New Pocket Dictionary, diversity means variety, a number of different kinds. I often discuss and read about diversity in terms of cultural backgrounds; the unification of histories and stories from people from all over the world. Although, I believe that in a higherā€“educational setting, diversity can also be discussed as the acceptance of the various minds within a classroom. I believe that it is important to recognize the thoughts and experiences of others in a learning environment. Collectively, students learn from teachers, teachers learn from students, and students learn from their peers. By...show more content... In higher education, this relationship should not exist. In a school like Columbia, where the faculty is still active within their field of study, students should be seen as equal participants within that field. A teacher may have more familiarity, but a student's experience should not be compromised within the learning environment. That is why diversity is important within the classroom. An acknowledgement of diversity allows for students and teachers to feel free to question and observe the learning at hand. In a media arts/liberal education, this type of learning should be foundational in order to achieve supposed goals promised to the student when he or she applied. In a recent class I took at Columbia, I found that diversity was forgotten. The class consisted of students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, each with a story different from my own. The class often had conversations about race, ethnicity and racism throughout the world. Each discussion was played out by the students, while the teacher acted as the mediator. After each debate, the teacher would finalize the argument. Often with an opinionated statement, that I believe could be further questioned. Although, there was never chance to examine the response and students were encouraged to accept the answer as correct. I believe in this situation, diversity was overlooked. The classroom was physically diverse, in race, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Sample Of Admission Essay For High School My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club advocating antiā€“drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today. Before I even entered high school, I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered highschool, an injury kept me from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as being in multiple community theater productions. Being a part of these shows made me feel a strong sense of belonging, and whether I was an ensemble or lead...show more content... As I had mentioned earlier, I am part of an antiā€“drugs and alcohol club. I am extended the opportunity to speak to young students about the risks they could encounter. The feeling that those students may look up to us is very meaningful, and I feel it is a unique experience. I am lucky to have the chance to save a student's life through this club. Another community activity I enjoy doing is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the chance to perform for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Business School Essay examples Essay Question 2: In reviewing the last five years, describe a situation in which you felt particularly effective as a member of team. (Limit 500 words) Picture an environment in which a 14 to 16 work day was the norm rather than the exception and where working through the night was as common as weekly status meetings. These were the realities of a Deloitte Consulting engagement I had worked on at Deutsche Bank. My first roll was to be part of the testing team. Since the system was to "go live" in 3 months the pressure was on to ensure that all the bugs in the system would be found and fixed. This put considerable stress on the team. The team didn't have enough time to give me an overview of the project. They basically gave me the ...show more content... I put in extra effort to learn the system, even on my own personal time. Within 2 weeks I was up to speed and able to assist my team in testing. The testing team would work long hours due to the tight deadlines, and it was common for management to ask us to stay longer with little notice. I did not, however, let this affect my attitude towards the team. I understood that since this kind of system had never been built before, project time estimations would be inevitably off. I also helped the team when new team members joined. I knew how hard it was for me to learn the system by myself, and I was good at communicating technical material in a manner that non technical people understood, so I took the initiate to get them up to speed. This was necessary since other team members were busy and did not have the time to sit down with new team members. As the project progressed I was put on the operations team. The operations team was responsible for monitoring the system when trades would be sent. The team had to be able to understand how the whole system works. To accomplish this I had to put in a great effort to learn the whole system. Moreover, the system needed 24 hour support. The operations team was required to work in shifts to accomplish this task. The shifts occurred in 12 hour time frames but usually lasted up to 16 hours. The start times of the shifts would change due to changing business needs, and every week Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Essay on Back to School Back to School Coming back to school was not something I was planning to do. It would pop into my head now and then, but I never really intended to follow through with it. However, now that I am back in school, it has changed my goals in my life, not only for me but also for my children. I want to be a positive role model. I would like to be someone they could look up to and be proud of. As for me, my role model was my grandfather, I always looked up to him and he has never let me down. I grew up on the Navajo reservation, without running water and electricity. We used oil lanterns at night to light up the house. It was not bright, but it was enough to light our little Hogan. Even so, my grandfather was an inspiration to me and he was a positive role model for me, and I hope I could instill it in my children's future. I did not plan on furthering my education after graduating from Monument Valley High School in 1993. Therefore, I went on to discover the outside world on my own. Some of my relatives would try to persuade me to go to college. I did have cousins that went to college after graduation but eventually dropped out. I use to ask myself, what is the point of going to college when I do not have the motivation to go to school? Therefore, I left home, away from the reservation. I went to the Grand Canyon and started working there in the hotel and restaurant industry. I truly enjoyed working in the hotels and restaurants; it was a great experience for me. Only to find out that it is leading me towards my path to my college career. I worked at the Grand Canyon for six years and finally decided to move to Flagstaff. I started working at Embassy Suites, where many of my colleagues were NAU students. They would talk about school all the time, and after a while, they actually made me start thinking about going back to school. I also have three of my close cousins attending the Northern Arizona University as well. So, I finally decided to go back to school at the last minute. For example, my best friend Lucianna is attending Sacred Heart again next year and I look forward to her company. My teachers and the staff at Sacred Heart are kind, dedicated, and very nice and I really like our principal Mr. Coyle. Mr. Coyle teaches us that school can be holy, educational, and fun all at the same time. Everyone at my school teaches us about our Catholic faith, like the importance of following the ten commandments, our church history such as Peter becoming a martyr for his faith, and learning a lot prayers such as the Apostles Creed and the Prayer of Saint Francis. At my Catholic school we go to church every month and we have religion class every day. I like learning about my faith and that by having religion class on a daily basis, practice makes permanent. • 17. High School Graduation Essay Graduation Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life. Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I observed that the students were finding themselves hard to concentrate on the lesson plan and I believe there were couple of reasons why the lesson failed to captivate the interest of the students. One of the reason is because, the activity of watching a movie and answering couple questions lacked the critical thinking process. Also, the students had to watch the same story videos from different websites which just seemed meaningless. The materials were extremely repetitive. Throughout the lesson, students had hard time sitting still and seem to lack interest; their heads were on the desks. Lastly, there were no hooks in the lesson plan to captivate the students that will make them desire to learn the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. My Educational Background Of School My educational background began with me attending public school for about three years, then I went to catholic school. Middle school was the best part of my education. In middle school I was given the opportunity to express myself creatively through dance, drama, writing, and with my voice. I attended a school of arts for one year; I noticed some changes that I was not familiar with when I was at student at catholic school. While in catholic school we studied a curriculum that included science, math, language, and social studies, but religion was dominant over all the material. At the school of the arts, I studied the same materials but the religion was absent, instead we were offered creative classes such as dance, drama, band, and vocal chorus. In addition to the curriculum there were the projects, for example, the science fair and social studies fair projects. I have always liked to be unique and creative and I would use these projects to show that. I was even fortunate enough to be accepted to attend Martin Luther King Magnet High School, neither myself nor my parents had considered this as an opportunity. As a student at MLK, I learned I would have to push myself and give extra effort in order to make the grade. The educators believed in high quality learning objectives, as students we were required to analyze information and compare and contrast, instead of completing simple assignments where we would recall information. I studied seven or eight subjects per day and I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
