• Mean Deviation: Mean deviation is the arithmetic mean of
the absolute value of the deviations from the arithmetic mean.
• Variance: Variance is the arithmetic mean of the squared
deviations from the mean.
• Standard Deviation: Standard deviation is the square root of
the variance.

• Coefficient of Variation: The coefficient of variation
represents the ratio of the standard deviation to the mean, and it
is a useful statistic for comparing the degree of variation from
one data series to another, even if the means are drastically
different from each other.
• Quartiles: Quartiles divide a set of observations into four equal
parts.

Correlation & Regression
• Coefficient of correlation : coefficient of correlation is a measure

• Coefficient of determination: The coefficient of determination is
the fraction of the variation in one variable that is explained by the
variation in the other variable.
• Regression equation: Regression equation expresses the linear
relationship between two variables.

From the chart of coefficient of correlation and coefficient of determination, we can grasp the
idea that the sales and profits of PRAN Foods Limited and Akij Foods and Beverage Limited are
positively correlated and it is notice worthy that PRAN Foods Limited has stronger positive
correlation than Akij Foods and Beverage Limited. Again, 70.86% and 73.40% of the changes in
variable Y can be explained by the changes in variable X in case of both of the companies
respectively.

winner in drawing more customer satisfaction in the
Dhaka University area.
