create counterpoint for your two-part invention.

3. CREATING COUNTERPOINT
The easiest thing you can do to create counterpoint
is to emphasize consonance
Consonances: unisons, 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, and
octaves
Use fewer dissonances
2nds and 7ths
Utilize different rhythms in the non-theme/variation
measures
Half notes work great (and are easy)
Eighth notes provide a lot of interest

Creating counterpoint requires knowing all of our
intervals
