To Whom It May Concern,
This is a letter of recommendation for Oriana Laflamme, withwhom I have had the pleasure to
workfor 2 years here at Connecticut Friends School.
Oriana stepped into the role of Director of Admissions here at Connecticut Friends School. To
do so at our small, independent schoolmeans Oriana joined an administrative team of four
people and was now taking on a broad range of strategic and day to day responsibilities that
had her wearing many hats, actively supporting new and veteran families, the administrative
team, the faculty and even the children – all of whom she knew well and all of whom were
always happy to see her during the schoolday.
Oriana has been proactive and most capable in managing many administrative tasks that rest
solely on her desk or are part of the administrative team’s collectiveresponsibility. Her
initiative is matched by an intrepid spirit as she manages marketing strategies, parent
communications (including the management of the school’s website), and the overhaul and
migration to a cloud-based admissions and financial assistance process.
Despite her full slate of responsibilities, Oriana is always ready to help her colleagues with
tasks great and small. Oriana puts in the extra hours to assure community events, integral to
the life school, are a success. Her support of this year’s Parent Gala Fundraiser was crucialto
its smooth operation and to its reaching its financial goals.
Speaking to the depth of her character and commitment to the Connecticut Friends School
community, Oriana, who earlier this spring had announced her resignation from her position
effectivethe first week of June, has continued to come to school as a volunteer to help her
colleagues witha recently announced wind down of the school’s K-8 program. She has, in
effect, jumped into the breach to play a critical role in helping us all through these challenging
times. I cannot thank her enough.
Please do not hesitate to call me if I can be of any further assistance.
Respectfully,
Mark Dansereau, Head of School
