SKILLS PROFILE
IT Skills
Microsoft Office (2003-2014 versions) package, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Project, Access, Publisher, and Outlook; including making Gantt charts, presentations,
spreadsheet and database of various data.
Experience with different OS; including Windows XP; Vista; 7; 8; 8.1;
TeamWorking
I have several team working experiences in the past. As the result, I have developed many
of critical skills required in this area, including time management, team problem solving,
group discussion, and many others.
Leadership
I have developed different leadership skills in the past; in school, where I was a bank
adviser, I was trained to run School Bank and I was a senior prefect, which involved
representing student's opinion to teachers and other members of staff. I am the captain of
my local football team and this has helped me become a leader.
Flexibility
At my part-time job, there is often sick calls or people not being able to make their shift. My
manager usually would ring me and ask if I could cover for them and on many occasions, I
have covered the sick employee’s responsibilities. Often I must shift my attention to a
customer emerging through the door even though I am in the middle of doing a detailed task.
Doing over-time to get everything done and get ahead of myself for next day.
Adaptability
There are often situations that don’t go as planned in the work-place and I am adoptable to
adopt to the situation arising and sort things out.
Problem solving
Last year we had an assignment to hand in and on the deadline day one of the group
members didn’t have their work done at all, which no one was aware till the dead line day.
As you can imagine this was a big problem the group faced. My group and I had to complete
the missing part. We all went to the library together and got everything done in under two
hours. At the end of the day we handed everything in on time.
Communication
At my part-time job, I must use communication skills everyday as I handle situations with
customers. For example, there was one time I had to handle a complaint as the manager
was too busy and he couldn’t come over. The customer had a lot to say and I listened very
carefully and took everything on board. In my response, I was very friendly and polite. The
situation was sorted and the customer left happy.
Pressure handling
Last year in university we had to hand up two assignments in one week and do a
presentation in the same week. It was a lot of work but I constructed a plan and followed it to
get everything done. I had to stay up late some nights but everything got done on time under
serious pressure.
INTERESTSAND ACHIEVEMENTS
Football
I have played football since a young age and have won many trophies. I currently play for
Windmill Stars in the Intimidate A.
