Since 2010 the Olds Connected Community Committee has conducted an annual survey to determine what
presence our local businesses have on the web. Businesses included in the analysis were selected from the
Town of Olds Business License database. The survey included criteria such as: Does a business have a website?
Has the site been updated recently? Does the site provide some form of eCommerce?
Wilson Loree and Adam Gaboury, co-chairs of the Olds Connected Community committee will present the
purpose of the survey, criteria used and multi-year analysis of the results. The Olds Connected Community
Committee mission is to facilitate a culture of technology use for business and residents in Olds and area.

• Social media continues to be a strong growth for business as a
marketing medium.
• Blogs and Vlogs are gaining in strength as business recognize that
video and personal message help build a connection/relation
between the consumer and the business.
