Re: Reference for Mr. Oduetse Morolong Sabone
This serves as a reference for Mr. Oduetse Morolong Sabone, who was engaged with tl.e
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SCHEME, as a-n intern;
For the duration of his internship vrith DOY, he contributed immensely to the YES agenda,
performance areas of which included:-
- Providing welfare services to various YES Boot carnp activities; This included counselling
services for YES participants and logistical support to the YES Boot camps;
- Researching topical issues on youth empowerment, including proposals on innovative
approaches to YES implementation;
- He worked jointly with the Senior Technician - YES on packaging various youth events
and outreach programmes;
- I{e assisted with youth customer service support;
Sabone was part of a small and dynamic team that administered and led 7 boot camps;
he worked through ALL the 7 boot camps with positive reviews. The camps hosted
6OO to 7OO young people in a camping fiacility over Sweeks; He supported the
following roles:-
- Arranging travel and logistical support for the participants and facilitators
- Compiling weekly briefing and flagging exceptions for management's attention
- Arranging accommodation, feeding and procurement of meals for participants aud
also engagement of support staff;
Por the past 6 months, Sabone has been engaged as a Student Welfare Officer at
Boitekanelo College where the Department of Youth has enrolled 360 participants for a
l2months programme; his duties includes managing travel and accommodation for
participants, including managing tenancy leases, induction for the students, and reporting
on the enroiment and relaying management messages and resolutions to the students;

REFERENCE FOR ODUETSE SABONE
I have known Mr Sabone for a period of about of year when he was an intern in the Department of
Public Affairs, University of Botswana.
Mr Sabone's porlfolio within Public Affairs entailed internal and external cornmunication, media
liaison, compilation of media database, advertising and marketing and event managernent. These
duties have contributed in transforming Mr Sabone into an illustrious individual.
Mr Sabone has displayed utmost commitment and diligence to work, He is an active team player
with excellent writing and communication skills. He is also a reliable person who has absolute
i'espect for authority and is self-disciplined.
I have been consistently impressed by both Mr Sabone's attitude towards his work and his
performance on the job. Mr Sabone proved himself to be able, self - motivated, reliable and
hardworking. I have known him to be attentive, cocperative, ever willing to learn and with good
planning and marketing skills. He is able to work with little supervision. I was quite impressed by
his ability to complete all work assigned to him on time, if not before it was due. I had pleasure in
