A Vaccine is covered with a specific part of a germ, known as an antigen, which is disabled ahead of its usage so as to prepare the vaccine.

When a child is immunized with
OPV, the weakened vaccine-virus
replicates in the intestine for a
limited period, thereby
developing immunity by building
up antibodies.
