Being a manufacturing technology student has create me the opportunity to work in all kinds of
industries as this course suits in most engineering field. Yet, my passion is in industrial engineering;
works related to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, man-hours, machine time, energy and other
resources that do not generate value. Anything that correlated to the Lean Manufacturing principles and
Industrial Engineering principles really caught my interest. Even my Final Year Project was interrelated
to Lean Manufacturing, time study, effectiveness of work space layout and efficiency of labor skills.

Involved in coffee production processes, the packaging processes and making monthly schedule of
production in order to meet customer demand.
Validate tool life of die sets used at the machines in new system (introduced in company) with the
output card and the spec. (Die sets tool life spec).
Find discrepancy between uploaded die sets tool life in the system and the actual tool life.
Ensure auto tracking of tool life in system is identical with the actual tool life in production line.
Rearrange the spec. according to process sequences in the production line (EOL- End of Line
Assembly) & provide S.O.P for the detail processes in the processes involved.
Final Year Project Title:
A Study on Productivity Improvement in Production Line by Implementation of Lean Principles
Made data collection (time study, layout effectiveness and operator skills) at secondary assembly
production line to extricate problems such as bottlenecks and processing wastes (7 Manufacturing
Waste) for new product.
The both wastes had been reduced and minimized by applying the Lean Principles at the production
line which is Continuous Flow and Standardized Work.
After the implementation of both methods, the productivity was increased by 40%.
